Letter of Intent
From my early childhood till today, my most remarkable characteristic has been my curiosity to learn about new topics. I have always been passionate about how mechanisms around me work? From a simple bicycle chain to the automatic transmission in cars, the logic involved in mechanical sciences has intrigued me. This coupled with a habit of disassembling and assembling every component that I could lay my hands upon indicated that Mechanical Engineering is where my interest lies.

Although I had been keen on learning about science and technology in my early ages, I was first seriously exposed to its beauty after I entered the Bangalore Higher Education Society which is one of the best pre university schools in Bangalore accepting only the secondary school graduates with the highest degrees in the capital of state, Karnataka. There I chose a science oriented education and as I expanded my vision about physics and chemistry, my favorite subject in secondary school, I determined my future area of concern for my university studies.

In my second year in high school, I started a research activity on classical physics under the supervision of my chemistry teacher and in the second year I made a seminar about the effects enthalpy and entropy which augmented my enthusiasm for discovering new ideas in the field. I stood in top 10% in State's Entrance test, I benefited truly from all my work in high school in that, not only I gained a studying discipline that has helped me achieve all my objectives up to now, but I also reached a certain decision on my field of specialization in university.

I took Mechanical Engineering as my undergraduate major and joined a premier institute Global Academy of Technology. During my undergraduate studies I have been exposed to diverse topics and made well equipped with to acquire sound knowledge in fundamental Mechanical concept in the field of Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics and Robotics, Machine Design, CAD&CAM, Thermodynamics, Mechanical Vibration, Finite Element Method, Strength of Materials, Fluid mechanics, Turbo machines, Heat and mass transfer, Manufacturing process, Dynamics of Machines, Energy engineering and Material science.

My final year thesis was titled "Evaluation of Abrasive Wear Characteristics of Aluminum 7075-Cenosphere Composite" which involved the development of lightweight aluminum composite and analyzing their properties of wear, hardness, density and also microstructure. I also demonstrated a seminar on Development of Natural fibers reinforced composites in my final semester. I enrolled myself into software courses in Ansys and CATIA V5. These courses gave me an insight into the standards that are to be followed and the various applications of the tools at an industrial level.

Aside from the academic life, I regularly use the cinema, theater and concert opportunities the university offers. In addition to playing football and cricket regularly,

As a member of the association for mechanical engineers in my college participated in various co-curricular activities of the department also played a major role in organizing a cultural carnival hosted by the Department. And took part in various theater competitions, was awarded First place for the state of Karnataka for my performance in a drama.

Soon after my graduation I was offered job in a startup organization "Hydraulic Power Solutions", unlike the milieu of the college, the corporate environment was very much different. The concept of learning on the job, accountability for the work at hand, conformance to in-housework flow standards gave me a greater focus. The most challenging aspect however was the rate of the learning, which is immense. Working at "Hydraulic Power Solutions" has helped me grow professionally and also as a team player. I have learnt the art of time management and what exactly the client requires from every project.

But I can see clearly that my knowledge is fairly inadequate and limited. I could not understand the development of ideas on a number of occasions. I developed a profound interest in Finite Element Method and firmly believe that the desire to gain deeper knowledge in the field of FEM and Computational sciences and also to work on research project related to the above fields can only be satiated through a more structured and focused learning. This is precisely what a graduate study at TU Braunschweig offers.

The German universities have always pioneered the research in my fields of interest. Being a prospective student for new challenging ideas, I believe that an opportunity for higher education in Germany would be a unique fortuity to test and prove my ability and also to enrich and broaden my keen with transition to a new setting.

I feel that TU Braunschweig with its rich blend of competent faculty, intense curriculum, and cherished history of success, state of the art laboratories and multiethnic diversity among students would be the ideal place to shape my career. The innovative research projects being undertaken by your faculty have influenced me to seek admission into your university

I am following the research activities of the university such as High lift for future commercial aircraft and faculty projects named PLATON. I am extremely impressed with the knowledge it has to offer and the quality it strives to keep up. I would be really excited to get an opportunity to study at your university and I believe that it will offer me the right platform to work on contributing to the technological development in the area of computational sciences.

I bring with me a strong academic background and relevant professional experience in the field of mechanical engineering. I am confident of accomplishing the high standards of competence set by the graduate program at your university. Hence I seek an opportunity to work in the stimulating environment at TU Braunschweig.

Further, I wish to bolster research initiatives in my hometown, India on returning, having completed my degree and gained some practical work experience. Armed with my new knowledge I believe I would be able to make a difference here I hope to have a lasting association and script a bright future through TU Braunschweig. I strongly concur with the quote by Napolean Hill -"Patience, Persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success "

Sincerely,

From my early childhood till today, my most remarkable characteristic has been my curiosity to learn about new topics.

...."my" is getting repeated within close intervals.
My suggestion;
Since young age, I had always been inspired by learning new things.

I took serious interest in understanding how certain mechanisms around me worked. Be it a simple bicycle chain or an automatic transmission in cars, the logic involved in mechanical sciences kept intriguing me.

Although I had been keen on learning about science and technology in my early ages , I was first seriously exposed to its beauty after I entered the Bangalore Higher Education Society which is one of the best pre university schools in Bangalore accepting only the secondary school graduates with the highest degrees in the capital of state, Karnataka.

... the first part sound a bit repetitive since you explain about that in your previous para. So, start straight away with the society;
However, my first serious exposure to the science and technology began with my enrollment into Bangalore Higher Education Society, one of the best pre-university schools in Bangalore accepting only the secondary school graduates with the highest degrees in the capital of state.
