Tell us about who you are.

How would your family, friends, and/or members of your community describe you? If possible, please include something about yourself that you are most proud of and why.

I may not be the best however, everyone has always mentioned how I am a highly persistent and hardworking individual, I agree. I strive to give my best everywhere I go, and in everything I do. Proudly possessing this quality has helped me overcome many challenges throughout the years.

Indeed there is never an age too late to engage in a sport nonetheless, I was at a disadvantage when I joined the school volleyball team in Grade 10. The lineup already consisted of club players and with that being said, it put my position on the bench. I took this on as a challenge to work even harder and earn a starter spot on the court. I went to every practice on time prepared and focused, determined to be worthy of a starter position within the next two years. Gratified, my hard work and perseverance paid off and it was truly worthwhile. Not only was I able to achieve a position in my school's starting lineup, but I was also selected to be a part of three club teams, one of them being the top premier youth volleyball teams within Western Canada. I am proud to say that I will soon be a part of the ------A team.

One essay at one time please

Hey guys! I know it's super last minute but I really would love opinions on these UBC applications. For the second paragraph, I wish to put more in-depth (and yes it has happened to me that is why no matter how cliche family is, it really does hit my heart to the core) but I only have so many words. :(

Thank you in advance for the criticism and help!

Kaili, you can use a collective statement to respond to this essay because each member of the specific community mentioned will have a different idea as to who you are based upon your function and performance in that section of your world. So your family point of view will have to come from your performance as a member of the family. What is it about you that your parents are most proud of and why? That is how they would describe you. As for your friend, use your best friend in this instance. How would this friend describe you are a part of a personal support system? Are you the kind of friend who would drop everything to come to her aid regardless of the time, day, or distance? Are you a "person" to this person? With regards to the community, this requires you to have actually done some interacting with your community on a volunteer service level. Have you done any work as senior homes or perhaps worked on community based projects? Ask the leader of your community group what he would say is or are your strong points then discuss. As for what you are most proud of. Open with the fact that you are a member of the national team first and then discuss why you are proud of the achievement so that the reason why you are proud of this accomplishment is what the reviewer will remember. The reasons are more important than the actual activity itself.
