Title: Consider something in your life you think goes unnoticed and write about why it's important to you.
Ever since the dawn of my life, I have encounter experiences with man's most trustworthy and loyal friend that changes the way I perceive things. His name is Sparky and he was brought in by my parents when I was 7 years old, he was always an obese puppy that will gobble up anything in front of him, from grass to the fruits of my backyard garden yet the way he wags his tail whenever he sees us always left us in "aww" every time.
Unfortunately, years grew by and we were wrapped in our own world of education and work, leaving him in the cage, dreaming about the world outside the tiny metal box. 7 days a week, 365 days a year, I neglect my responsibilities other than feeding him until the verge of his death. He was then sent away by my parents and the after math was horrific.
It was only then I learned the importance of love and care about life of any organism, I took my childhood friend for granted and stole his freedom. I look at the picture of once young and adorable Sparky and I remember the bad days I had during my elementary schooling years, I went home and release him from his cage, miraculously he look at me as if he understood and sat next to me, listening to all my embarrassing stories like peeing in my pants, lost my pencil box, scolded by teachers etc.
I ponder to myself what had happen during those years and whenever I feel like unleashing him after a very long time, he would sober in the cage as if telling me "Where have you been all this time?" but it only lasted a while then he came out circling around me again.
Life revolve around many emotions and I imagined the happiness he felt as if he was in heaven, even if is just a brief moment, just by seeing us, telling me that he only wished to be by my side. I imagined the sadness he felt when he stared through the window of my backyard, wishing to be part of it, only to be shut out by the curtain in the end.
We have always presume that death will not fall upon us tomorrow but we need to know the probabilities of us condemn to death are definite. All in all, life itself is the meaning of our existence yet to appreciate life was always overlook by wealth, success and economical struggle. I once was a naïve and selfish person but thanks to Sparky I now understand the meaning and importance of life.
