I have been struggling on what to make the idea of this Statement of Purpose about. My concern right now isn't grammar or punctuation. I am just needing help with the idea of my statement of purpose and some opinions on what I have so far. And if my Statement of Purpose even states a clear purpose.

now I have no idea how to include graphic design. Honestly I just think it's fun and I happened to be weirdly good at it when I tried it for 2 years at Community College. Although the environment was severely depressing I was almost about to give up in the end and even started making unhealthy decisions until deciding to transfer to a university. Because..wow! it was a huge difference talking to an advisor there than at my community college. The advisors at my community college seemed depressed and didn't respect me as a student and it felt like I was always unwanted. I was genuinely shocked when everyone at the university felt like I was a priority and answered any questions I had and even gave me advice and related to me as well. They were so amazing and its such a huge difference. Anyway enough of me blabering on. I am just a little worried and stressed about this because I really want to get in.

This is a Statement of Purpose that will be attached to my portfolio. I also want to mention I am already admitted into the school. This is just for the college of art at the university.

Statement of Purpose

Write a 250-word statement that describes why you would like to pursue a degree in art or design. Save the statement as a PDF and upload it with your application.

"A lot of creative people I know have been heading into the wrong paths-whether through substance abuse or even getting themselves stuck in a loop of chasing men instead of nurturing the incredible creativity within them. From my viewpoint, the lives of creative people can vary drastically, but they all have the potential to create something extraordinary. The creative journey is full of highs and lows, but I've learned that pushing through is part of what makes the process so rewarding. While I've struggled with insecurity, especially when sharing my ambitions, I'm determined to prove to myself and others that this path is worth pursuing. Creativity is something I've always embraced. My verbal ability is not one of my strong suits, but I can confidently say that my ability to create visually is. I see this as a gift most people abandon, and I refuse to let it go to waste. I don't want to follow a conventional path; instead, I seek fulfillment through a creative career, even if it's intertwined with the demands of modern society. Stability might be safe, but creativity is what makes me feel alive. At [school name], I hope to join a community where people support and inspire one another to reach their full potential. I'm ready to work hard, grow as an artist, and contribute to this creative environment. This is the next step in turning my passion into something real, and I hope to be welcomed as a part of your community."

Everything that you have written does not lead towards a proper statement of purpose for a college degree. The purpose for your application should be related to your ambition in life. Your career goals. What sort of profession you want to pursue in the future using this degree. For example, you could state that you want to work at a major animation studio or at a notable amusement park. Art has to be something you live for. It should not be your option just because it was fun for you at the community college and you found it fun to do. That is tremendously shallow and shows an immaturity and lack of preparedness on your part to become a full degree college student. If you are not fully sold on committing yourself to Fine Arts, you will not be able to come up with a proper statement of purpose. I strongly urge you to reconsider your intention to enroll in Fine Arts at this point.

Thanks for the advice. I understand that a Statement of Purpose is simply just to talk about your ambitions and career goals and nothing more. I must have misunderstood my advisor. although I understand I used some wrong choices of words in the beginning, they were not a part of my Statement of purpose and just to get a better understanding of where I come from, from a pure unprofessional humanly point of view. But other than that. All the info I needed was given. I will not be reconsidering my major. And I have already worked internships and have my own personal brand where I design merch for local bands and sell tattoo designs. I know this is what I strive to do. I also see that is what I need to include in my SOP, and not nonsense about the way of life intertwined with art. But I very much appreciate the harsh critism.
