Dear Admissions Committee,
I am writing to express my strong interest in the Bachelor of Science program in physics under the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship. I choose to study this subject because I am curious about explanations that happen through observation since childhood, I demonstrated strong academic performance in all subjects, and I aim to contribute to research and education in the Mongolian scientific community.
My choice to study that major is that provides explanations for phenomena ranging from the basic motion of a ball to the existence of the universe, fulfills human curiosity and my own. I was inspired by my grandfather who was a physicist, who taught me simple explanations of everyday phenomena. One time he explained simple phenomena, I remember was when he explained why the sky changes color at sunset by encouraging me to observe how light behaves in the atmosphere, helping me see physics as a way to understand the world around me.
I have selected to study physics at the bachelor's level of this program offers me an intense learning experience about quantum and theoretical physics, a demanding field that continues to challenge researchers and run scientific progress. I understood physics and performed well in school by grasping one topic like thermodynamics by examining and understanding why it is happening rather than memorizing given formulas. By this, I developed my own study method that suits me, observing in real life and watching YouTube to understand concepts that helps me solve problems, which has only reinforced my desire to study physics.
Furthermore, I intend to contribute to the scientific community in Mongolia by applying the knowledge and gain from this program. I'm interested in doing research in physics after graduation, researching practical solutions that can advance scientific understanding in my country. After carefully studying and achieving my academic goals during my bachelor years, I hope to strengthen Mongolia's shortage of expertise in modern and theoretical physics.
My academic and non-academic background, passion for physics, and the commitment to contributing to the Mongolian science field make me a suitable candidate for the scholarship. I am aware of the challenges that studying abroad may bring. However, my will to study physics and long-term goal of developing Mongolian scientific institutions will allow me to overcome such difficulties and concentrate on my academic goals.
