"Stress-relief baking" - It provides a cathartic release for all the stressful emotions

Hi everyone! I need some constructive criticism on my UVA essay. I'm kind of ambivalent about it, however I am also a person who never likes what she writes no matter how good someone else might say it is. Anyway I just need a little help.

Prompt: "We are a community with quirks, both in language and in traditions. Describe one of your quirks and why it is part of you."

It's the night before my calculus final. I am standing in my kitchen- back hunched, feet taping out a nervous rhythm on the floor as my eyes dash over the pages of my textbook in an attempt to remember the formulas I'll need for the exam tomorrow. My hands keep time with the patter of my feet as they busily mix a bowl of what's shaping up to be a promising batch of chocolate chip cookies. People have many different ways of relieving their stress. Some scream, cry, or hit their pillows in frustration; I like to bake. Stress-relief baking, as I like to call it, is my way of relieving all of my worries. It provides a cathartic release for all the stressful emotions that might threaten to overwhelm me. Baking occupies my hands, but focuses my mind. It's strange, but the simple act of my hands kneading a ball of dough allows me to concentrate and keep my motivation high. Sometimes I even assign different baked good for different occasions. Snickerdoodles for finals, brownies for essays, or apple pie if I'm having a busy week. However baking isn't for just relieving any stress I might feel. I love to share my quirk with others because I've found it relieves not only my stress, but that of others as well. Giving someone a fresh baked cookie never fails to put a smile on their face. So don't be surprised if you see me handing out cookies around finals; I'm just relieving my stress- one baked good at a time.

Did you mean "tapping"?

Overall, loved it!

You think you can bake me some goods for all these supplements I have to do? :D

This is a cute approach to this prompt; I really like it!
Maybe, to make it more personable, consider adding an anecdote of a specific time where you just felt really stressed, and how baking helped you push through this difficult time. Show, not tell, your experience.

How did you get into baking? What's the story behind that?

Help with mine?:)
