SU(SYRACUSE) SHORT ANSWER: WHO/WHY INFLUENCED YOU.

SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY SHORT ANSWER #1.
I am uncertain about how I should answer these short answer questions, in a creative way ( my strong suit) or straight forward. This is a pretty basic response, I am not very confident about it, but I do not have much time to keep revising for the application is due on January 1st.

Who or what has influenced you to attend Syracuse University

#1. I have lived in Chicago for the past 17 years, and for those 17 years I have always felt that my
heart truly lies on the East Coast.From the assortment of colorful leaves, to a hearty Fenway
brat, I long for a little East Coast in my life. I have finally reached the point in my life where I can decide
where I would like to spend the next four years.The East Coast is the obvious general
vincinity I am headed towards. The next decision I get to make is choosing what University or College I would like to attend.
After countless college visits, mounds of magazines and pamphlets, and hours upon days spent on University websites,
I have finally come to a consensus. The answer is Syracuse University. The great location
is not the only factor that has influenced my decision. Syracuse is an academically prestegous Univeristy
where I can put forth my best abilities and truly strive. My passion lies in
Journalism and Communications, and Syracuse Univeristy is the ideal place for me to further my studies in that field.
I would have the opportunity to study and learn while using the materials that the campus and the renound S.I Newhouse of Public
Communications offer me. I am confident that Syracuse Univeristy can provide me with all of the tools that I need
to further my education and career in Communications, while still acting as my new home.

I think you answered the question not 'generically'. I think being creative would also be better. The first part where you describe growing up in the east coast is a bit long. You could use that space to talk more about programs and projects specific to the college that interest you.

Creativity has a place always. Straightforward is good, though, because this is such a serious question.

Use no more than one sentence to express that the East Coast feels right and that this helped you narrow down your choices. Then, spend at least 2 sentences describing specific plans to make specific use of specific resources at the school Show them that you have a clear plan for the future. Clear plans are the hallmark of serious students.
