Hi, thank you for clicking this thread.
I'm applying to Duke very soon (actually right after this revision)
English is not my first language, so there might be some issues.
Thank you for your time!
P1. please discuss why you consider Duke a good match for you. Is there something in particular at Duke that attracts you? Please limit your response to one or two paragraphs.
Relaxed on a rocking chair, I was enjoying my holiday with my family in the living room. As my left hand stroked my belly that was full of Thanksgiving's dinner food, my right hand fumbled around unorganized table to find a remote controller. When I turned on the TV, there was a show called CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 show, introducing about animal intelligence. While watching, I was very impressed by Dr. Sue Savage-Rumbaugh's lifelong research on ape languages, and surprisingly, I could also navigate other great researchers from Duke University like her: Dr. Brannon and Dr. Hare. According to CNN, they have been studying animals' behaviors for decades, and that speeded up my heart. Hoping to attend Duke and do research in biology, I found the real reason why I truly want to go to Duke.

P2. If you have participated in any significant research activity outside of school, please provide a brief description and limit your response to one or two paragraphs.
During my summer break after the junior year, I was able to participate in Michigan State University's Plant Biology research. My research topic was about the effect of plant growth regulators on peroxisome morphology in srabidopsis. Peroxisome proliferators represent a good model system to study the mechanisms of non-genotoxic that cause carcinoma or tumor of the liver in animals or humans. The experiment was developed to see significance in shape of peroxisomes in many different kinds of hormones.
