digvijaymore 1 / 1 Jan 9, 2015 #1Georgia Tech's motto is 'Progress and Service' what does it mean to you?After thinking for about 2-3 hours this is all I could come up with. If there are any suggestions and changes you guys think I should make, please let me know-----------------------Everyone wakes up in the morning hoping to achieve something in life.In my case, that 'something' is my desire to progress as a human being. Change is not always progress, but progress requires change. For me, progress means a change that you make in your life to be a better version of yourself. Whether it is helping my sister with her homework or volunteering at a local institution that fights HIV/AIDS I progress greatly by learning new skills, discovering new layers of myself, and recognizing my potential and influence on others. But progress on its own, without any service will become meaningless. Service is bringing smile to an unfortunate soul and progress is appearance of smile on your face seeing that smile Being able to contribute back to society as you develop doesn't just give value to progress, but it is also an act of gratitude to society for everything they have done for us.-----------------------
