There is little room for doubt that the popularity of junk food is apparent in the bulk of cities. While I argue that fast food is conducive to people's lives to some certain degrees, I contend that the downsides of this tendency are of greater significance.

On the one hand, it is clear that ready-to-eat food has several merits. To commerce with, fast food can bring people a sense of comfort and flexibility in a hectic life. The reason is that together with the development of cutting-edge technology, people can get access to numerous junk food establishments with ease to order instant food. Hence, it is beneficial for those who bury themselves in work or study to allocate time to other priorities, instead of spending time preparing complete meals. Moreover, fast food offers a complete meal at a reasonable price compared to healthier alternatives. Due to this reason, ready-to-eat food appeals to people, especially for low-income individuals, leading to the habit of consuming fast food more.

On the other hand, I hold a firm belief that the consequences of this tendency, in the long run, cannot be overlooked. The excessive fast-food consumption can exert adverse impacts on people's well-being. It is due to the fact that the high level of sugar, carbohydrates, and processed ingredients in fast food induce manifold health adversities such as obesity, cardiovascular diseases or even cancer if consumed uncontrollably. Therefore, overuse of junk food can put people's health in jeopardy, leading to a decline in work productivity, ultimately affecting the whole nation's economy. Furthermore, the environmental consequences of the fast-food industry can not be ignored, including pollutants from waste, contaminated water, and excessive packaging. This gives rise to environmental degradation, posing a significant threat to ecological balance and people's health.

In conclusion, while the widespread use of fast food offers a great deal of benefits for citizens in some aspects related to time and finance, I firmly believe that its downsides of this tendency surpasses its upsides due to its adverse impacts on people's well-being and environmental protection.

This essay length cannot be completed during the actual test. It is almost 400 words long, which means that you will not have enough time to draft, review, revise, edit, then finalize the content of the paper. You only have 40 minutes to deliver a concise and well developed response to the given discussion. You should not be spending more than 10 minutes each on the (1) brainstorming, (2) drafting, (3) revising, (4) review and final editing of content for the presentation. Although your grammar is intermediate in skill, the fact that you did not discuss the essay in the expected single opinion response, and that your restatement and writer's opinion deviated from the original topic and discussion points will be additional reasons that this essay will not receive a passing mark. You are using a comparative measured response essay, which are 2 different response formats meant for specific prompt requirements. The opinion presentation in this essay should only be of the single opinion kind. The essay will fail because of the incorrect response format and lack of time to actually finish the essay during the actual test. An open ended essay, meaning the conclusion is not present, will receive an automatic failing score. This is not going to receive a passing score.
