IELTS WRITING TASK 2 - coffee production
The graph gives information about coffee production in 4 different countries from 1990 to 2010.
The bar chart compares the production of coffee in 4 countries, namely Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, and Vietnam between 1990 and 2010.
Overall, the amount of coffee produced increased in most countries over the period, except Colombia. Moreover, Brazil produced the most coffee out of the 4 countries during the period.
In 1990, the amount of coffee produced in Brazil was around 0.7 million tonnes, before rising to 1 million tonnes in 1995. An opposite trend was seen in the figure in Colombia, which declined from 0.6 to 0.4 million tonnes. Meanwhile, the amounts of coffee in Indonesia and Vietnam were 0.2 and 0.1 million tonnes respectively, and remained unchanged during the 5 years.
Between 2000 and 2010, the amount of Brazil's coffee production increased from 1.5 to 1.9 million tonnes. Similar patterns were witnessed in the figure for Indonesia and Vietnam's production, with respective figures being from 0.3 and 0.2 million and both increasing by 0.1 million. However, a gradual decrease was recorded in that of Colombia's production, which fell from 0.4 to 0.3 million tonnes.
