ISSUE TOPIC:Competition for high grades seriously limits the quality of learning at all levels of education.
my answer:
Many people say that compete for high scores will force students to just learn the knowledge that will appear in the test. So as to have a great score, students learn how to take exams instead of learning knowledge. This way of competition for high grades will bring negative impact on the quality of learning. However, I think competition in a good way can contribute to the acquirement of knowledge and skill instead of limits it. There are three reasons to support my point of view.
Competition for high grades needs people to acquire and accumulate more knowledge and skill. Students will need to have more experience and be good at what he has been studying in his field in order to get a good score. For example, taking GRE exam, one must learn and practice writing, reading, comprehends, logical skill. You also need to accumulate vocabulary, enhance your knowledge about math, grammar of English and so on. It also can imply to learn other subjects at school. Students need to acquire basic knowledge like you must know an equation to solve a math problem. Also in the progress of learning, it will enhance his learning skill. It also helps to improve the quality of learning.
Competition also helps to training a person's power of will. If someone want to be an expert or be good in the field or subjects he takes in, he need to spend much time and effort on it, that is, he or she will need to work harder and continually study every day. For example, If a student want to have a good score on math, he or she will need to do a lot of works like solving math problems.
Furthermore, in reality, you need to have a good grade as a student. For it is one of the factors that a company or a college will see a student is good or not. The grades you have at school in some respect reflect your performance in learning and how hard you put an effort into. For example, there are thousands of people who want to get a job at a big corporation need to take an exam first like Samsung. There is a minimum requirement of GPA for the students who want to enroll in a graduate program in university, and more higher GPA for apply the scholarship.
Generally speaking, competition for high grades does help to the quality of learning. However, if requiring too much for high grades will limit a student's ability to learning other skill in his or her life.
I would like some opinion about it. and also would like to hear some advice about how to write better, thanks very much!!!
