INTERNET USERS AS PERCENTAGE OF POPULATION
The graph depicts the proportion of population who used the Internet in three different countries between 1999 and 2009.
In general, the USA, Canada and Mexico witnessed an increase in the percentage of population that used the Internet over the 21-year period, and the figures for Canada was the greatest in 2009.
In 1999, about 20% of the American used the Internet. The figures for Canada and Mexico were lower, at approximately 10% and 5% respectively. Since then, the number of Internet users in the USA and Canada using the Internet rose to around 70% of the population in 2005, while Mexico witnessed its quantity of Internet users reached over 25% of the population over the same interval of time.
In 2009, almost 100% of Canadians used the Internet, which means the figures for Canada was the highest, compared to about 80% of Americans and more than one-third of Mexicans.
