Tet is the most important celebration of Vietnamese culture. It is an opportunity to reunite family and enjoy many festive activities. On Tet holiday, Vietnamese people, wherever they maybe, comes back their homeland. All members of the family gather to decorate their house, prepare five fruit tray and cook many traditional foods. They display five fruit tray and foods prepared in the Days before Tet on ancestral altar to demonstrate their gratitude to ancestors. All members of the family also spend the New Year Even together. They stand at the front of ancestral altar and pray for good fortune and a life of plenty coming to all members on New Year. Vietnamese people also meet friends, neighbors and relatives or visit to the local pagodas on Tet holiday. Although times is basing and the country is now integrating more and more into global environment, Tet is the most special significance occasion and its meaning will never be lost in the heart of Vietnamese people.
