A Neighboring War

The theme of Steve J Spears's story, 'The Girl Next Door', is about the human relationship which can easily to build up and without complex reasons, but it can also easily be broken by some common affairs and small disputes. This story is truly a picture of real life because some of the conflicts happened in the narrative are always emerge in reality which sometimes lead to a tense relation among the people next door. In this story, the author shows how the disputes affected on the character's mindset, for example, from kindly to unkind and from tolerant to intolerant. This essay will investigate how the neighboring Warfare shows about the characteristics of the four main characters. It will also show how the writing styles help to make more delicate on the characteristics of each character and some other correlative things.

At the beginning of the story, the author portrays the couple in a funny way which not only can show their features and background information, but also can draw readers to have further reading on this narrative. He described Autumn as a cute little thing at age 15 and had given birth to twin girls and his boyfriend Lenny as a strapping, IQ-60 at age 15 and contains a terrified eyes (128). This shows that it is a complicated family which has two underage parents and two little babies. It can attract readers to imagine how an IQ-60 father able to run his family well and try to find out what will happen next.

Besides, the description about Steve also made the latter part of stories more realistic and reasonable. 'A year previously I had left tired, noisy, pointless Kings Cross and, comme on dit, downsized...It was as close to paradise as I had ever found...' (128) show that he was suffered from bad conditions in Sydney and finally found a place likes paradise. It seems nothing, but the purpose of him to help others is already implicitly shown in this description which is do not want others to have same experience and get suffered in his "paradise".

In this narrative, the characteristics of each character are revealed from different events among them. At the first part of the story, it is easy to see that both Steve and Tony contain an obliging heart. 'Come, Share paradise! If you guys want to borrow the proverbial cup of sugar...just bang on the door...' (129) show that Steve is pleased to share his paradise and try to give supports to the couple to help them overcome the difficulties. Moreover, they also have no grumble about helping them. '...O happy day that I was sent to this earth to help the unfortunate' (130) show that they are delighted on it and just think it is their mission and elder responsibility for helping others.

With the first aggression by Lenny, Steve still can forbear himself. 'I still think Sex Pistols are the last great rock band... keep it down a little...' (131).This is a clever method which not only can please Lenny, but also can reduce the chance of getting conflicts with him. His tactics show that he is a clever and forbearing people. It further shows that he still pursuits peaceful life and do not want to break the relationship between him and his neighbor.

This is my half part of my essay, i know that my English is not very well, but i am keep working on it!
Do you think my content is academic enough?
Which means my use of Words or some other things i need to work on?

Hello Li Chi Kin, sorry for the delay in looking at this essay. I'm glad you got some feedback from Gaurav (thanks, Guarav!)

I want to mention that you can do this cool trick when mentioning titles:
The theme of Steve J Spears's story The Girl Next Door is about...
See? No need for commas or "story."
Also, is this a novel? For a novel or for a film, use italics:
The theme of Steve J Spears's The Girl Next Door is about...

Part of the thesis is hard to understand:
It will also show how the writing styles help to (make more delicate? what does this mean?) on the characteristics of each character and make some other correlative (observations?).

He described Autumn as a cute little thing at age 15 and who had given birth to twin girls and his her boyfriend Lenny as a strapping boy with IQ-60 at age 15 and contains a terrified eyes (128).

Okay, now that I spent time reading your academic writing in English, I see that you have really done a great job of practicing MLA citations as well as writing with good sentence structure. I hope you practice reading aloud a little each day so that you can perfect your English! It really is very impressive. I see small mistakes, like this:

... is pleased to share his paradise and tries to give support to the couple to help them overcome the difficulties.

The word 'support' is like the word 'water.' You do not say, "I gave them some waters." You say, "I gave them some water." It needs no s.

So... He tries to give them support and help them.

:-)
