Global Warming: two ways that an individual can help the environment

I have to write a paper discussing two ways that an individual can help the environment.
I need help with my thesis. It has to be an illustrative essay.
I already have ideas to write about like recycling and not using your car as much but I'm having problems starting it of. I will take any advice.
