Can anyone please help me how to start an essay as my topic is Why was Italy chosen for the renaissance.
I have been reading your posts and i have all my topics.:

1. It had the most powerful person the Pope.
2. It was the heart of the Roman Empire.
3. It was a rich country.
4. Group of artists Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Botticelli, Masaccio, Caravaggio, Bellini, Donatello, Titian, Tintoretto who brought a complete revolution in Realism in Art.
5. It was full of scholars.
6. No single ruler.
7. It had many resources.
8. It was the centre of the old world.
9. The centre of trading.
10. It is a peninsula.
11. City States:
- Florence- Medici Family
- Venice- The Doge
- Milan- Sforza Family
- Naples- The King of Aragon (In Spain)
- Papal States- The Papacy (The Pope)

Now can u please tell me how to start my essay

Well, in my opinion, I think you have done a great job of research- like getting all these predispositions fro Renaisance in Italy written in order.

What i would recommend you to develop your essay is to focus on one topic, let's take no.4, for instance, and start narrowing it down. For example, to take every artist and focus on his contribution to Renaissance, and finally, you will be able to trace some similarities, that probably affected the existence of Renaissance in Italy. For example, you chose Michelangelo, the most renowned work, the style he used to create it, the ideas he occupied for creating this pieces of art, etc. then you take Rafael, and etc.

For starting I guess, you should begin with some quote to grasp attention of a person reading your essay. you can also use anecdote, like a short story, for example, what made you think about this research or essay, such as "What is really special about the topic", "how did it change the development of humanity" or something like that.

BTW, how long should your paper be?
