What makes a better essay? / Need Advice
There are good books which teach that. For instance,
Barron's "How to prepare for the TOEFL Essay" book
Ace the TOEFL Essay
One of the greatest books is "The elements of Style" by William Strunk and E. B. White
You can download them for free on the Internet, but it gonna take a bit time to find a free downloadable pdf file.
Also, remember, you can't master writing only with reading... So, you need to practice a lot, and ask someone to check your writings.

I would offer this advise that stems from experience. A Big number of students face difficulties writing their university term papers. It is not an easy task for some students especially the International Students. In this How To tutorial, I would like to state various steps that should be followed by students in order to write perfect term papers. The steps go as follows:
1. Know and understand your topic of research very well through doing some google research about the topic. When you understand your topic, move to the second step.
2. Start searching for references and resources that tackle your topic of research. Be sure to rely on academic resources that are retrieved from .edu and .gov websites. It is essential to get academic resources as well from academic journals and databases such as EBCOhost and Proquest, etc.
3. Read these resources and understand them.
4. Rewrite the ideas you got from the resources in your own words. Make sure you do the proper paraphrasing and summarizing and quoting in order not to fall into plagiarism.
5. Make sure you make the proper in-text citations using APA, MLA, Harvard or any other referencing styles.
6. Make the list of bibliography for all the references used.
Note: If you are an international student, we advise that you use Google translator to help you understand the materials very well as this is important to write a perfect term paper.

I think that before writing an essay, we should identify what is the THESIS of essay? Then all paragraph will reflex the thesis idea, they should contain main points, example, tie up sentences...
Additionally, the good essay structure includes:
- Intro.
-Body.
-Conclucion.
Hope it helps.

If I were to ask you about your favorite kind of ice cream, what would you say?
Now how would you go about explaining your rationale?
Lastly, how would you conclude everything you just said?
Simple as 1, 2, and 3: Thesis, body, and conclusion.
