The requirement as follow:
Submit a personal statement of approximately 500 words. This statement should describe in detail your reasons for pursuing a degree from LeBow College, your short-term and long-term career plans, and how your background, experience interests and/or values, when combined with a Drexel graduate degree, will enable you to pursue those goals successfully.
I have a question about the "background" in this requirement.Someone told me the "background" refers to the educational and internship experience, I should not write other things like my living environment and growth process,so i should delete my second paragraph, is it right?

The person who told you that is correct. A statement of purpose for graduate school is written in a more intricate level, way beyond the college experience. You have to consider that a masters degree applicant normally has at least 1.5 - 2 years minimum relevant work experience prior to applying for graduate school. That is the aspect of your professional life that matters most in the consideration of your application. There are 4 questions that can be considered the guiding light when writing these personal statements:
1. How long have you been working in your current position and how does your interest in this course relate to your work conditions?
2. Discuss the compelling personal and professional reasons that you have for advanced studies in accounting.
3. Do you have any relevant recent seminars or training in accounting that should be considered when reviewing your application? Please state them for the record and consideration of the admissions officer / committee.
4. Discuss how completing this particular course at LeBow will help you achieve your short and long term career goals.
Those are the topmost considerations made when your personal statement or statement of purpose is read for possible student consideration. By clearly responding to those queries, you will better your chances for consideration and possible admission into Drexel. Good luck with your revision. I look forward to reading it :-)
I have revised as you say and made some changes. I am going to graduate this year so for now i have only done several internships. I am afraid this one is too dull.I will appreciate all the suggestions, thanks again!
Here is the revised vision:
My past education background and working experience accorded closely with my career objectives. Throughout the undergraduate years, various accounting courses have provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental financial theories as well as the business world in general. Gradually I have developed the ability to carry out in-depth academic knowledge based on my passing 10 exams of ACCA. In addition to ordinary studying, I devoted a good portion of time to taking internships in multiple accounting and financial institutions during my summer and winter holidays, including an accounting firm and Standard Charted Bank. These experiences have given me a great chance to utilize financial theories I learnt in school and put them into practice, and meanwhile I also establish a certain career objective.
With regard to my short-term goal, the first one is right at the corner, which is to successfully get into your preeminent Accounting program at the LeBow College, and then to pass CPA exam within two years. After my graduate, I intend to find a position as a professional auditor or business consultant in Big4 or consulting company to accumulate my working experience with my in-depth knowledge in accounting area during three to five years. From then on, I will give myself another 5 years to take on a senior management role within the company. In addition, my long term goal is to move me slowly into a CFO role by becoming a principal contributor to the company's success.
Driven by this well-designed career path of mine, I was attracted to your comprehensive curriculum for Master of Science in accounting program in LeBow College, which is built around a careful balance of business, general education, and accounting courses. Moreover, the abundant internship opportunities in Philadelphia would be an ideal way to sharpen my academic skills. Specifically, the program not only teaches advanced accounting knowledge, but also integrates that of business administration, which interests me substantially. Accounting is not merely about recording, but to find the best way to track the business operation, reflect financial condition and operation accomplishments. Successful accountants are able to balance the interests of the shareholder, creditors and managers well, and help maximize the enterprise's profit. Thus, for my graduate studies, I want to learn how to use financial information to analyze the operation conditions to provide feasible suggestion for the development of the enterprise.
