Statement of purpose

Since my boyhood I always had fascination of being an engineer. In my high school I had been attracted to science, technology and a hunger for knowledge, knowledge about anything and everything. I was always good at analytical reasoning and always looked at the big picture without forgetting the important statistical details. Just after 12th, I had decided that I would be pursuing my bachelor's degree in engineering and technology and study business post to that. I started looking at myself as a software engineer in future. For what I chose Computer science engineering as my Bachelors degree in Technology. That is the field where maximum revolution will take place in the upcoming years as I thought. And that is the subject that will give me an upper edge when understanding business principles, policies and their analysis later in my career. I want to be self-employed one day and generate employment for others too. For this, I require a comprehensive study in Finance.

I was always supported by my parents, teachers and friends right through my high school days. In my 8th standard, I was offered an opportunity to read daily news on stage during assembly. I failed to perform well on the first day. But it was my teacher who trusted my ability in speech, gave me a further chance to do well. It was that sort of encouragement I always possessed throughout my academic career. It is always a great experience for a student if he/she gets laurels either academically or in extra-curricular activities. So was my feeling when I was awarded a memento when I stood first in the subject science in my 10th standard. All these experiences in my school life produced a positive me.

Life and study in my graduation taught me many things among which are: ability to think quickly, problem solving skills, ability to analyze things with different perspectives, team work, Leadership, to remain calm and do better under pressure, among others. In these three and half years of study, I have strived to maintain an approach of expending independent effort in all my endeavors. Besides learning about Computer Science and Information Technology, I also learned business and economic fundamentals from courses like Managerial Economics, Project management, Management science and Data Mining and Warehousing. Here a lot of emphasis is laid on the application of any technology because technology without business application is a dead technology. Experiences in my college made me more creative and innovative.

I have a deep interest in management and leadership having seen it up close in my college life. During my first year in college, I just tried to make as many friends as I can. It was not purposeful but was rather due to my interest in doing so. This was even better when I was supposed to organize a Video -gaming event alongside the team of 6 guys. I personally felt contended with the response to that event from everyone. This made me participate in similar events over the next 15 months or so in my college life. But this also had a profound effect on my academics. It was in my 2nd and 3rd semesters that I scored less even after scoring well in the 1st semester. Nevertheless, I was able to work in a team by then, organize and assign priorities to things to be done. It is at this point of time that a student starts thinking about his/her future academically. There where a few things lingering in my mind but I chose Business management for my further studies which I constantly dreamt of.

Meeting new people, interacting and learning things from strangers is what I like naturally. There are a few morals which I developed till now in my life. I always strive to learn from others' as well as my own mistakes. I do not like to wait for someone or something, in the sense that I prefer being punctual all throughout my life (incidentally, it is one of the cardinal business virtues). The best accomplishment by me till date is being a good son and a good friend as believed by them. But it is half-done if I am not a good person. The acquaintance all through my life with my family and friends helped me acquire morality, frankness, honesty, openness. I was told by my lecturer to have belief in smartness while performing a task rather than hard work. I have been constantly implementing this law to achieve a task and I was seldom unsuccessful.

I chose UK for my higher studies since in UK the schools colleges and universities have developed world-class student services. These, ensure really great support for international students. UK is ethnically diverse country in the world, studying where will be intellectually stimulating and mind broadening. Until now I think I have been able to achieve only a regular amount of my true potential. I hope to achieve an education potential more than ever in UK.

In conclusion, I would like to add that the essence of University education lies in the synergetic relationship between the student and his department. I feel that graduate study at your University will be the most logical extension of my academic pursuits and a major step towards achieving my objectives. I would be grateful to you if I'm accorded the opportunity to pursue my graduate studies with financial assistance at your institution and am able to justify your faith in me.
