Hi,
I need to write a letter of motivation for admission in International Management in Resource and Environment and i am not sure whether my letter is good enough. I am in trouble and in need of help.
This is my letter of motivation
'Management is doing things right; leadership is doing right things.'
I am writing to express my interest in applying for the MBA Program in "International Management of Resources and Environment" at Technische Universitat Bergakademei Freiberg, Germany.
I have always been attracted by this oldest art present in the world known to us as 'Management'. From completing a basic task to an extremely difficult one we need management. I have successfully completed my Bachelors of Technology in Mechanical Engineering and now I need to shape my career by blending my technical knowledge with management skills so as to join a new race of competitive youth termed as 'Techno-commercials'. The MBA-IMRE program at Technische Universitat Bergakademei Freiberg, fulfills all my expectations. This program offers a very distinct and qualitative approach to management of natural resources and environmental protection. It will simultaneously prepare me for the challenging market where a man with management skills can easily survive and excel.
This is the only program in Germany that combines general business administration and management capabilities with conservation of environment and natural resources. Since this kind of amalgamation was not possible to find in my country I got a fair chance to pursue my further education in Germany, one of my favorite places in the world. Moreover, this program comes with no tuition fee which is an additive advantage for me and is taught in English which will make it much easier for me to understand.
After finishing my high school studies I was determined to pursue a MBA degree and work as a hardcore professional but I was not sure about what trade to choose. During my Bachelor degree study I had Environmental Studies as one of my subjects in curriculum. I was very fond of the subject and got excellent marks. This is when I started developing my interest in Environmental Sciences. I also attended and participated in a seminar conducted by PCRA (Petroleum Conservation Research Association) in which I learnt about the effective and sincere use of petroleum products considering environmental effects. For further 2 years I was determined that either I will pursue a degree of MBA or I will go for any Environmental study program. But during the final year of my undergraduate study I was lucky to find that I can go for a hard core business administration program as well as management of resources and environment in this study program (MBA-IMRE).
I want to become interested in the subjects in IMRE because I believe that they will help me grow in this competitive and challenging world and make me learn to tackle and manage many sectors involving environmental safety and resource management.
I believe that subjects in IMRE will be the most interesting subjects for next two years as they are not new to me and will help me grow both as a management professional what I always wanted to be and as an environmental philanthropist which was always in me. I have heard and read about them earlier. I have studied a few environmental as well as management subjects during my Bachelors like Engineering Economics, Principles of Management, Environmental Studies, Operation Research and Total Quality Management. In my bachelors I was able to do justice with my program not only academically but also in extra-curricular activities. I have organized many events in my college annual fest and also anchored in several formal and informal events.
As per the qualification criteria of MBA-IMRE I am presently working with Gannon Dunkerley & Co., Ltd. as a Graduate Trainee Engineer (Project), since August 2013. I have been awarded a degree of Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering with First Division, from one of the most promising university, Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, INDIA and acquired an overall band score of 6.5 in IELTS with not less than 6 bands in individual sections, i.e., Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. I have also taken a GRE test in which I scored 299 with 140 in Verbal Reasoning and 159 in Quantitative Reasoning.
I consider myself qualified for pursuing the study because I have a keen interest in Business Administration and I find it best when I feel that this course can help me understand the current environmental condition of the world and teach me the correct and necessary steps to be taken to help this world grow more eco-friendly. I feel completely comfortable with the list of courses and the list of assignments I will have to pass during the course of my study in Germany and assure you that I will give my best to meet the standards of the University.
After finishing the MBA-IMRE Study Programme I believe that I will come out as a successful candidate ready to be hired for a managerial post in the sector of Natural Resource Management. I believe that MBA-IMRE study program will provide me with necessary skills and knowledge that I may need in my future endeavors. As I am very much clear in my thoughts, what I have to do and why, I never allow myself to fall short of my goals, and if it happens I will work upon the pitfalls and come up again with more workable plans. This is how a leader works as failures are inevitable but one can learn from them a lot.
