I ****, working as a Database Administrator at ******* UK., introduce myself as a sincere and hardworking person. I believe that higher knowledge is the direct experience of a person endowed with learning and humility. Strong will power and firm determination paves way to success. I have always endeavored to learn ways and means to learn better and more. This inbuilt hidden urge in me has been a source of inspiration and confidence building device that led me to aspire for Information Systems field.
Right from my schooling, I have maintained a very good academic record with **%. I always enjoyed participating in extracurricular activities such as elocution, essay writings, quiz and sports activities. In view of my involvement in extracurricular activities, academic record and appreciable sense of camaraderie with fellow students I was made School Captain in class 10 for *****, which has pupils of nearly 2500 students.
In (10+2) I scored 263/300 in Mathematics and passed the examination with an aggregate of ***%. In the Common Entrance Test an Entrance Examination for admission into undergraduate course, conducted by the State Government of *****, I was placed in the top 3% out of a total of 1,27,250 candidates who appeared for the examination. I chose **** Engineering College, one of the oldest and reputed engineering colleges of the state and affiliated to ***** UNIVERSITY. I chose Electronics and Communication Engineering as my major in my under graduate program (B.E)
Engineering College, besides providing a thorough grounding in course fundamentals, has also refined the way I think as an engineer. I was amazed by the logical soundness of thought and innovations that went into the basics of the subject. The college has also exposed me cutting edge technology in various fields by offering numerous courses such as C Programming and Numerical methods, Information Technology and Fundamentals, Data Structures, Network Theory, Probability theory and Random Process, Analog and Digital Communications, Computer Architecture and Organization, Switching and Logic Circuits, Digital Signal Processing, Microprocessors and Applications, Data Communications and Microwave and Optical Communications Information Theory and Coding, I am proficient in computer languages such as C, C++,. I am also proficient in SQL Server Databases.
In MSc I Learned the technologies behind the design and implementation of mobile, optical, satellite and microwave communications systems and gained practical experience in the design, development, installation, testing and maintenance of electronic and communication systems.In University, I always enjoyed long hours in the labs. It gave me the opportunity to correlate theory to practical phenomena. This in turn gave me a better understanding of the subject and newer lines of thinking.
Immediately after completion of MSc, my Interest in Databases and Servers got placed me as Junior Database Administrator at *****, UK. I managed to get a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certification in Implementation and Maintenance of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition.
It is my firm belief that postgraduate study is indispensable for acquiring a deeper understanding and flexible insight of the subject. I have decided to pursue active research in an academic environment as a career. After completing graduate studies at the university, I intend to take up doctoral studies and research position in the industry or academia. I feel that my undergraduate curriculum and work experience has given me sufficient exposure to the various possibilities for research.
I am impressed with what your Department has to offer-flexible and dynamic graduate programs, well equipped laboratory facilities and an excellent faculty. I understand that the Information Technology program at your University offers a balanced as well as in-depth approach to the subject. My research interests are in complete concurrence with your graduate program.
I had gone through syllabus and found that this would be right place to quench my thirst for cognizance in my field. I also feel that your institution is the best resource for my training and would enable for technical interaction with international students. Apart from that "Capstone Project" and the contacts you have with your Industrial Partners would motivate me to mould my scientific thinking so as to deliver on good grade under my name and to find a placement in the same. I feel your university is the right place to embark upon an academic career.
