prompt:Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Workers would be much happier if they are doing different types of tasks during their workday than doing the same task.
Thanks for advance.
Today's society is much more diverse, complex, pluralistic and swiftly changeable than ever before, making every social member a sailor driving on the sea, enjoying challenging under complex weather condition. Therefore, some people argue that people would be happier to do different types of work than to do the same. However, I hold the view, of many others, that different jobs and a certain work have the same effect on people. If there are anyone wondering the view, this passage is my answer.
To begin with, the two types of ways to work can give people a sense of pride. Familarity makes things perfect, just as a common notion suggests. If someone does the same work everyday, they will know every stage of the working process, understand every factor of the task, and even predict every possible error of the job. Therefore, they can always do an outstanding job and "shine" among their colleagues. On the other hand, different jobs in the working environment, which make people more eager to challenge, once are overcome by people, they will be great proud of themselves. We could trace evidence to a survey conducted by researchers at China Academy and Social Sciences in 40 successful companies in both Beijing and Shanghai. They drafted a list of questions centering on happiness from the two types of work and asked the employees to fill out the questionaire. Among the 8000 employees who wrote out their answers, about 43% of the answers are the same work, 50% are different jobs, and 7% are others. Thus we may see happiness from both of the tasks affect people.
In addition, trying various tasks is helpful to people with repetive behavior to do a certain one. So is repeating the same work. For one thing, no one could complete an assignment without trying again and again. Then, when we get a new job, accomplishing it needs us to attempt many times, which may be several days or even weeks, if admitted. For another, about a task without results for a long time, continuing and insisting on it not only may be a waste of time, but also do harm to employees' interests and enthusiasm. At that time, a new work is a must.
Considering all the details mentioned above, there is every reason to believe that different tasks have the same influence on people as the same job.
