In the year 2050, a movie is being made of your life. Please tell us the name of your movie and briefly summarize the story line.

America's Worst Job. A little boy grins as he exchanges Pokémon cards on the playground. Another sweet deal. 2015. The boy has grown up and has traded in his cards for companies and his t-shirt for a suit. America's Worst Job details the rise of an investment banker from his humble beginnings of a paper-pushing analyst to CEO of a large banking firm. Surrounded in an environment of ravenous sycophants, can David preserve his morality or will he fall prey to the temptations of Wall St? (489/500)

If you had the opportunity to spend one day in New York City with a famous New Yorker, who would it be and what would you do?

A day with Adam Richman ensures amusement. Our time would comprise of sprinting from one street cart to another, sampling the various delicacies of NYC. From gyros to eggrolls, we would soon cascade with greasy goodness. Our stomachs would further ache from laughter as we retell disastrous recipes fueled by our bizarre imaginations. The streets would reverberate with our loud boisterous laughter. New York City, our own personal playground.

Please tell us what led you to select your anticipated academic program and/or NYU school/college, and what interests you most about your intended discipline.

Stemming from entrepreneurial classes, I gained a rudimentary knowledge of business and its workings. Yet one aspect particularly stuck with me: finance. The combination of mathematics and practicality sent shivers down my spine. Finance was real; it was tangible. Thusly, Stern is the ideal root to future my understanding and depth. Situated in the financial capital of the world, Stern provides not only outstanding internship opportunities but also a peerless erudition in business. (487/500)

Undergraduate / Cornell CALS essay: It started with an Oreo [5]

this is a fairly rough drafter please be harsh!

Food Science and Oreos

I tugged at my mom's coat, wondering why we were here. As she explained that this was the Nabisco factory, her workplace, my jaw dropped. My mom made cookies for a living? How cool was that? Handing me a box of Oreos, she led me on a tour of the factory. She took me through the giant machines churning batter to the scientists in a lab testing for various quality defects. She explained, in simple terms of course, the intricate process that culminated in the Oreo I had in my mouth. With this new knowledge, the cookie ceased to be a simple food. The process amazed me. I was eating a man-made wonder.

Since that day, I developed an interest in food and its workings. I began helping my mom in the kitchen watching her create new and exotic creations, assisting her with the simple tasks. Although my mom eventually switched careers, she still imparted to me her love of food. Yet for years, food remained only a hobby, nothing more. It wasn't until my freshman year, that I actively pursued this hobby transforming it into a passion. I started cooking on my own, concocting things from my bizarre imagination from squid in reduced orange juice to chocolate covered steak.

As I reached sophomore year, food was reintroduced to me in a more technical manner. I had recently qualified to participate in the food science event for my school's science team. As I prepared for the event, I gained more and more interest in the subject. The food aspect kept the whole topic exciting and the chemistry and biology aspects were challenging. I discovered that food science provided a practical outlet for my passion.

Food science opened a completely different field for me. I could now create new tastes on a molecular scale. I was no longer bound by whole ingredients. Carbohydrates, sugars and proteins could be synthesized to create a new exotic flavor. Through food manufacturing, I would be able to produce all twenty three flavors of Dr. Pepper or maybe even add a twenty fourth. I had found a passion, a perfect outlet to exercise my creativity, love for food and interest in science.

The food science program at Cornell allows for the applied education I need for a career in food manufacturing. It offers an integrated curriculum that will not only give me the background in science that I need but also the practical skills necessary for a job. Furthermore, many food companies offer a wide array of internships to Cornell students, allowing me to develop my technical skills further.

As a large research university, Cornell offers many opportunities to explore many areas. I hope to work with Professor Harry Lawless in researching flavor chemistry and developing new and unique tastes. Through its large facilities and world-renown professors, Cornell provides an ideal environment to pursue my studies.

Thank you so much for reading!

Undergraduate / Emory: why a good match "To Be the Best" [2]

Many students decide to apply to Emory University based on our size, location, reputation, and yes, the weather. Besides these valid reasons as a possible college choice, why is Emory University a particularly good match for you?

Following along the news and recent financial crisis, I have gained an initially interest in finance. Piqued by its competitive environment and quantitative requirements, this interest grew. Eventually through my experiences and knowledge, I hope to help shape a financial system based on cooperation rather than avarice.

Expectedly, I was initially attracted to Emory because of Goizueta's reputation as an excellent business program. As I did more research, I learned of their small class sizes and the intimate relationships with professors. As a person who flourishes under a team environment, the close and nurturing community that Emory creates provides a great environment to pursue my studies.

In addition, through its emphasis on leadership, the education I would receive at Emory, prepares me as an innovator. Through events such as the UBSLC and BBA Leadership academy, Emory provides me with exposure to our world's current business heads and practitioners. Along with its workshops, I can develop my abilities and accumulate the skills necessary to help begin my dream. Emory gives me the experiences and knowledge for not only the technical aspects, but also the practical skills needed to establish myself at the top of my field

Emory is offers me a pathway to my dream. Through its rigorous and inclusive academics, it gives me the knowledge I need to excel in the technical areas. However, it also teaches me the skill set to stand out in my future career. Its leadership events and career-oriented clubs, give me the practical experience I need to do well outside of academia and in the work place. Emory does not only give me the skills I need, it teaches me to be the best.

Thanks for reading! I appreciate all your help!
