Topic: Research indicates that the characteristics we are born with have much more influence on our personality and development than any experiences we may have in our life.

Which do you consider to be the major influence.

Every person is born with some unique characteristics which differ from another individual in one or the other way.e.g. Some people are born with leadership skills while some have good critical thinking ability. These characteristics if polished and worked upon since young age will influence more on building and developing personality.

For e.g. If a child possesses good diving skills since a very young age then he has the talent to become a famous diver later on in his adulthood.

Our innate characteristics are gifted to us by our parents by the transfer of genes. Our DNA tells our abilities and strength by comparing it with the DNA of a person possessing the qualities but as we grow older we gain experience from our environment and people around us or by making mistakes. This way experience helps us in deciding the right and wrong or pros and cons of a situation but the influence on personality is made by the characteristics we carry.

Personality is a joint influence of genetics and environment. Our genes inherited from our parents set our characteristics while our environment and experience moulds it either in a good form or a bad one.

In my opinion personality is influenced by the characteristics we possess while experience helps us in learning right and wrong.

Universities should accept equal numbers of male and female students in every subject.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Knowledge is critical to our future as it has been critical to our past. It is necassary that people get themselves educated to build individual capacitythat could make their countries country of opportunity.

Every individual,regardless of their gender should get a chance to study at university level.Nowadays, females work side by side with males and they have a right to get an equal opportunity to study with them but in order to be meritorious universities should aceept students on merit basis rather than keeping a fixed seats of equivalent numbers of male and female students.Every student possess a different quality and a set standard to meet their expectations. By accepting students on merit basis, the university offers them to give their best in their field of interest. This inturn will produce capable students who will look up to the future with confidence. On the contrary, if equal numbers of both genders are accepted in every subject then those who are less interested will not be able to bring out their talent or work upto their maximum potential. As a result, university willl face difficulty and the set standards wont be met.

To conclude, my opinion suggests that universities should accept students on merit basis rather than taking equal number of male and female students.

In some countries young people are encouraged to work or travel for a year between finishing high school and starting university studies

It is correctly said that life makes you learn and that learning helps you at work and in daily life. Students are encouraged to work or travel for a year after completing their secondary education which helps them in gaining experience and integrating their theoretical knowledge in practical application.

Firstly, when students go out to work they meet different people, they learn social behavior and ways to commmunicate with others in professional life. Moreover, different ideas and thoughts will be exchanged. This way maturity will develop. Secondly, they will learn right and wrong by making small mistakes which will prevent big losses in later life after they persue their career. Thirdly, working and travelling will build up the level of confidence of students. Moreover, it will also bring out their creativity and hidden talent which was veiled when they were studying. Some people are good at studies while some display their skills at practical side. This way they'll get to know where they stand and how much struggle they have to do. Another positive point of sending students to work is that they will start to earn and by earning they will realize the value of money. They will start to think wisely in spending and will become less dependant on their parents for pocket money.

These all learning will surely help them when they will start their tertiary education. They will be able to imply things and skills learned into the theoretical concepts which they will study and it will also be useful in the career they will persue.

In a nutshell, it is a wise descision to send students to travel or to work after they complete their high school studies.
