Oh my gosh this is so cool. I really liked it and how unique it is. I also like the thought of memories and jow important they are. It adds character and let's them know youcare about family as well.

Virtually all of Stanford's undergraduates live on campus. Write a note to your future roommate that reveals something about you or that will help your roommate - and us - know you better.

Since it looks like we'll be living together, we'll get to know a lot about each other! Well, let me start by saying I'm excited to be living with you. While living at boarding school and in the matter of just one year, I had the experience and opportunity to live with a total of five different roommates, so hopefully I've learned and will be a good roommate. One characteristic about me that you may notice is I can be very random and it may seem that I have ADD (attention deficit disorder) at times.

My friends, happiness, and pink are very important to me. I love being surrounded by my friends, and I can be found with my closest friends most of the time. Please don't be surprised if I'm rarely in the room. I enjoy helping others whenever possible, whether it involves me being just a set of ears to listen or helping them with homework, and I hope I will be able to help you whenever needed. I do my best studying outside of my room and spend lots of time at places like the library to study. I believe you need a balance of hard studying and stress relief. Two things I enjoy to relieve stress are puzzles and Disney, especially the Disney Princess movies. I love the happiness, inspiration, and motivation Disney portrays. Combining these two things, I have several Disney puzzles that may serve as decoration for our room. I am very sporadic and try my best to be optimistic, but like anyone sometime I just need my blanket and quiet time to ponder life. I like to think I keep the lives of those I'm around interesting. Do you have any fun or special quirks about yourself?

I hope this gave you a taste of who you'll be rooming with, that we will have a blast as roommates, and we'll get to know each other better over time.

Well written and very informative. The last sentence doesn't make sense at all. Maybe say 'the friend seekers, the game addictts, and blog maniacs all have their very own reason to use Facebook.

Writing Feedback / Christmas & continuity of traditions; Stanford/ What matter to you and why? [4]

What matters to you, and why?

T'was the night before Christmas, and my family and I were enjoying time together. We were getting prepared for the annual Christmas Eve church service as well as finishing preparing the dishes to be eaten on Christmas day. We kids are helping our dad make the family-tradition barbeque for dinner and preparing tea rings for breakfast on Christmas morning. After church, we drive through the town, playing Christmas music and looking at the lights with awe. Once we return home, we gather around the fire, and read "The Littlest Angel" by Charles Tazewell, followed by watching the classic movies "White Christmas" and "Miracle on 34th Street" before going to bed, waiting for Santa's arrival.

Christmas is a very important time of year to me, not only with my religious beliefs, but also with my family. There is joy in the air and quality time being spent with the family. The traditions, which have been passed through generations in my family, are very important to me. While living away from home the past two years and being at a boarding school, these traditions have become even more important to me. My life is hectic and busy with schoolwork, friends, and the normal teenager life; however I enjoy the continuity of these traditions and something I can count on never changing as the years change. My family's traditions provide a special, happy memory we can always count on, which is a way to remember the people of the family, and bring us closer together, which I hope to one day pass down.

Most Christmases were spent with my parents and siblings, but my favorite Christmas is the one that was spent with my whole family: aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. My grandfather had passed away that year; however it was the first Christmas I could remember where the whole family was together. This Christmas was especially special due to the snow that arrived. Living in southern Louisiana, I rarely got to see snow and every year I'd hope for a white Christmas, but that Christmas day it snowed. My family's traditions provide a special, happy memory we can always count on, is a way to remember the people of the family, and bring us closer together, which I hope to one day pass down.
