Writing Feedback / BABYSITTING; Narration of process essay [5]

Babysitting the Baby

As humans young and old we all well majority of us love babies. But all people can't babysit and take care of the baby/babies for a night. Simply because they don't have the necessary training or anything to know how to handle children or what to do when they cry besides throw a bottle in their mouth. But it's really not that much to it once you've got the hang of it and it comes very easy to me, I have 7 nieces and 1 nephew all younger than me and a bunch of cousins.

First things first you have make sure everything's in place for when the baby arrives. You have to make sure all the room is clean and safe for the baby especially if they are crawling so they won't hurt themselves on your watch. Get some things together to make sure that the baby is occupied and not just bored getting into everything he/she sees. Like coloring books, toy blocks, musical toys, and fun bears. So once they finish with one thing they'll just move to the next one and your job won't be that hard if everything's in place before the baby arrives.

Once the baby arrives and gets dropped off with you or vice versa make sure that you ensure the parent or person dropping off that everything will be okay and you have it under control. Be sure to ask the parent how they like they're child's bottle made, all parents don't make bottles the same. Some use just straight water and milk but some add little things in the bottle like cereal or honey and you don't want to be making the wrong kind of bottles then something happens. Now you get to doing things with the baby activities rather it's simply talking to them or sitting playing with blocks or whatever toy. It'll last for about 5 minutes or depending on the child's span of attention. While playing with them be calm tell jokes have fun don't be nervous and all stuck up because then the child will most likely be crying and want you just to hold them and hold them.

Next after the child is done playing the toys or getting bored now it's time to bathe the baby at least a warm wipe down. Make sure the water is Luke warm so it's not too hot or too cold and the baby won't get the chills or anything. Wipe the baby down so they are clean making sure that you wipe under the neck. Making sure though that you completely dry under the neck also so no rashes will start or occur. Put the babies pamper on fast making sure they don't use the restroom or start while it's not on and get it everywhere. Put on the babies night clothes which most likely will be an onsie. Turn on the TV a cartoon or a cartoon movie that will interest a baby like Dr. Mcstuffins, let the baby sit watching the movie or show while you go warm up the bottle. You will need to either microwave the bottle on high for about 30 seconds to knock the chill off. Pick the baby up and put their head at a tilt and feed them now as you're feeding them they will now probably be falling asleep. Being that they have played they got bathed and now they probably are really worn out and tired.

After you've finished feeding them they will need to be burped so while they're sleeping they won't be throwing up or have acid reflux. Sit the baby on your thigh facing to the side holding them in the front like by their neck while patting their back until they burp. Or put the burp rag on your shoulder place their head on your shoulder and pat their back until they burp, either way will work. Once they're fed and burped its bed time.

Usually putting the baby to sleep after they've ate and burped doesn't take that long a tops about 10 minutes with my experience every time I baby sit and I baby sit twins. You put them across your leg and shake they will make different noises but that's how you know they're really sleeping and its working. Now once you got them to sleep you lay them down on a pillow close by and put pillows around then so they won't take no fall to the ground. Now once their sleep you go clean up the mess they made and make sure everything's good. You can now have you time or go to sleep also and just make sure you sleep light so you can hear if they cry or anything.

Writing Feedback / COMPARE/CONTRAST essay about my mother&sister [4]

Mother and Sister

Many people are similar in ways but have differences also that make them from other people. Just like my mother and my sister with their differences and similarities. Money management, Parenting skills, and dependability are things they all differ in but are the same in some ways also. My mother is the calm responsible strict dependable one while my sister is the push over dependable person.

My mother manages money so well and carefully. She's been having a savings account since she was about 13 years old. Like for every $100 she puts up $10-15, so she knows she'll always have something put up for emergencies. Because these days you never know what's happening and going on day after day. She can make a single $100 bill last and stretch for 3-4 days. She could go into a store and come out the store with 3 outfits for under $60 altogether. She shops bargains and sales and hates spending unnecessary money. But unfortunately her habits didn't rub off on my sister. She's not well managed with money at all. She works hard don't get me wrong but will go through her whole check in one week. Like she pays her bills and all then what she has left over she blows it on food and shopping. Instead of just putting some up and get things that she needs and not just wants just because like my mother. So when the children needs something she can get it just from her money and pocket instead of borrowing it from someone.

People have a lot of different ways in how they parent their children. Some are stricter and have rules then others. While some parents try to be more open and of a friend then a mother to their child. That's where my mother and sister parenting skills differ a lot from one another. My mother is a strong believer in rules and regulations. Meanwhile my sister is into the thing of being more focused in being a friend to her children so they'll talk to her and be open with her and not disappointing them. Then actually setting stone rules and putting them into play.

Like I would have to let my mother know when I was leaving the house and where I was going, be back by 9:00pm on school nights and 11:00pm on weekends. If those rules weren't followed and aboded by then there would be consequences. I would be on the school bus the next morning and my keys would be hung up in the front room or in her purse and my car parked for at least 2 days, I better not bring home no C's on report cards either. But my niece could leave when she wanted and come back when she wanted to however late she wanted to come in. Because my sister didn't set rules or anything, but that led to my niece being out of control and almost failing school. Now she's just wild.

In my family we all depend on each other we are each other's back bone. This is where my sister and mother are just alike you can believe that you can depend on them to be there for you through whatever circumstances. They could be sick as a dog but if they told you they would be there believe you would see, hear, or have whatever from them. Like for example my grandma's birthday was 2 days after my mother had just got out the hospital for a blood transfusion and she was supposed to be in the bed for at least a week. The next two days went by and she was up baking my grandmother a cake sick, recovering and all. But that's just her and how she is and my sister is the same. After she got the hospital from having her baby she rested for that day then was back up running around making sure we was all fed and good. Because my mother has several different illnesses.

These are two people that I'm very close too and have a lot of respect for. They are very different in a lot of ways but are the same in a bunch of ways also. Very different in money management and parenting skills but are the same and comparable in dependability and other aspects of life and living. So two totally different people can be compared and learn that they have more in common or more differences in one another and can be compared and contrasted very well.

Writing Feedback / Expanding a ban on texting, talking on the phone and internet access while driving [5]

Driving is one of the most dangerous things in this world. A moving vehicle and all the detractions makes some people very nervous about getting behind a wheel. But now we have ordinances banning some of the detractions you can have while driving; like banning texting and talking on the phone while driving. Theirs other things that the phone does that aren't banned yet. So I think that the city of Austin should expand the recent ordinance banning texting in moving vehicles on to internet access also. I say that because you social networks play a role in most humans' lives and banning that will make more people focus and have second thoughts using internet while driving.

Texting, talking on the phone and internet access all go hand and hand. Since all three are very much dangerous why not just ban all three instead of just two. To do all three you have to use electronic devices and therefore it would make sense to go head and ban internet access also. By expanding the ordinance and just banning all three it would make people think two and three times about using or messing with their phone while driving. Because you have to take your eyes off the road to look at whatever you're trying to get on. Once your eyes are off the road there's a problem bound to happen, I'm sure everybody has looked at their phone while driving but with the ban and the consequences out it may just decrease the number of people who drive and deal with their phone.

There should be like a ban put on internet access as far as social network and email because that's what most people are driving and trying to access a social network to stay up to date. So the ban should stop internet access and if you're caught the consequences should be a ticket and some type of way, depending on how many times you get caught doing it. Every time you get caught the fine should go up&up and sooner or later you'll get tired of getting all those fines. Losing money all the time instead of just leaving the phone alone while operating a moving vehicle.

There should be a ban on internet access with social networks because just like texting and talking on the phone causes accidents so does being on social networks while driving. The dangers range from minor too extreme because you might not think your eyes are off the road that long but in reality it's longer then you think. It causes side swipes, car crashes, cars running off the road, cars running over people, running lights, and everything else. But with more and more bans and fines being enforced then more and more people will stop with the electronics and driving. No law enforcement is going to be able to catch everyone that is driving and using an electronic devices but when they do catch someone they can show them that they aren't playing about the laws of using electronics and driving. But the ones who aren't getting caught can start following laws.

According to national cell phone and driving statistics when texting it makes you 23 times more likely to crash and talking on the phone makes it 4 times more likely for the driver to have an accident. If you're talking on a phone it can make your reaction time as slow as a 70 year old reaction time. 94% of drivers agree with the ban about texting and talking on the phone while driving. But 35%admitted to doing it. So if the texting and talking on the phone ban has 94% then there should be almost a 99% of people agreeing with the ban about the internet access with social media. It should be an eye opener because statics show that texting while driving kills 11 teens daily. Ages 15-19 has the largest percent of drivers that text and talk while driving. Teen drivers are much more likely to be distracted then older people because their irresponsible and just think nothing's going to happen till it happens then they don't want to do it no more. By then though it's kind of too late because they've already caused accidents or whatever but at least it's an eye opener.

So as you can tell by expanding the texting while driving ban to also banning internet access especially to social networks is a great thing. It'll make people stay on their toes and either way it's just either they're going to stop or their not point blank period. But adding internet access i.e. social networks would make more people stop because they can tell the law and government isn't playing anymore about all the deaths and car accidents happening because of electronic devices. Also the government is doing a good job spreading the word about all the things that can be caused by texting, talking on the phone, and all those internet access. Basically driving and using any kind of electronic devices so more people see the commercials and don't want that happening to them or their children/family so they will spread the word to stop the use of internet access and use of electronic devices. To make the road a safer place for everyone, but they government can't make people in the car stop talking to each other that's not breaking a law that's freedom of speech.

Research Papers / Research paper on Steps to be a Pediatrician... MLA FORMAT [2]

Pediatric Field

Pediatricians are needed and its a high demand for them now a days. When we have our children we want a licensed well trained doctor to care for our children. Rather then someone who just went through school so they could make money but someone who loves children and has a love for what they do. Doctors period have people lives in there hands but pediatricians have babies and toddlers lives in their hands little children that haven't did anything to anybody so its important for them to catch every detail. Pediatricians are needed because the rate in children being born is very high right now and most children being born need extra care.

Everyone can agree that the number of children being born is going up but it's at low compared to other years. A little over 8 million babies are born per year. Now having babies is like a trend. According to a article in the medical news today it states 6% of babies born have/are born with birth defects and 3 million will not reach age 5. But those defects and deaths could be reduced if more health care providers and programs were out there. Meaning the number of baby doctors are needing to go up also so each child that needs care gets the appropriate care and time.

Pediatrician when people hear that word they automatically think of baby doctor which is true. But a pediatrician "is an doctor who, with distractions and tickles, cajoles voiceless babes and wary toddlers into making audible their woes" says A.R. Colon. Basically saying its a doctor who cares for babies, toddlers, and sometimes teens. But along with caring for children you have to have all the knowledge that's needed to know what illness they have- what medicine to prescribe and what doses. It takes a lot of schooling and education to finally make it to be an pediatrician and making money like all other doctors.

Their are many steps to becoming a pediatrician but one of the steps are the Education/Schooling requirements to become a pediatrician is a lot of training and going to different types of schools. The first one of course is high school you have to take all your chemistry, biology, calculus, english and all those classes and pass them with at least a B. Also while in high school you'll need to get involved with tour school in some kind of activities and join clubs. So you can get into a four year college/university no matter if its big or small. After high school you'll need 4 years of undergraduate courses at either a college or university. Which is where you'll take and complete all your basics and some of the courses needed to move on. After those 4 years you need to get a BS, BA, or Bachelor's degree of some kind because moving on to medical school you don't need to necessarily obtain a science degree. As long as you take the courses that medical schools require:

Biology - 1-2 courses of basic, 1 course of genetics, 1 course of microbiology, 1 course of molecular biology.
Chemistry - 1-2 courses in basic, 1-2 courses of Organic Chemistry.
Physics - 1 course in basic.
Math - 2 courses in calculus. (Steven J. Halm)

Now is where medical school comes into play and as the Arthur of becoming a pediatrician says, "almost 99% of the time , you will complete the program and become a doctor". Medical school takes 4 years the first two will be just like studying the basics of medical sciences in different areas. But the last two years is when you get the hands on training part and that's the part where you really figure out the specialty area you want to work in. There are several choices of areas to choice from and this is where your confirmation of things will come in at so you'll be sure where you're going. You learn a bunch. After 4 years of medical school comes 3 years of residency. Which is the most difficult part of the whole process if pediatrics are chosen this is where your skills are refined. You come more responsible for the patients you'll have to deal with and also they're parents. That's apart of it you have to deal with stressed out parents but have to stay profession and compassionate. Going through this will have your emotions going wild you'll see children fighting to get through their illness that are so strong, then you'll see children that are so sick and parents that are devoted to their children and are going through it tough, and the worse you'll see children who don't make it. You'll have physical, emotional, and mental challenges. Like working 75-100+ hours per week taking from basically your whole social life away and getting minimum wage salaries. But during residency is when you'll actually start getting paid. There's another step but its optional if you want to go on to a sub-specialize of Fellowship. Fellowship is typically a 2-4 year program of further training that focuses your efforts on certain Pediatric areas of expertise.

Areas like:
Pediatrician/Neonatologist, Pediatric Allergist/Asthma/Immunologist, and ect.

Now after the education comes the money. The starting salary for a pediatrician is about $135,000.
" An average starting salary for a pediatrician is around $135,000 per annum while the one with few years of medical experience receives about $175,000 a year. In addition, an average hourly wage for a pediatrician is about $77.60 per hour which averages to about $161,410 on an annual basis." (Healthcare salaries)

With a base pay offer of $189,000 a year, on average, family practitioners, pediatricians, and psychiatrists are offered the lowest pay of all physicians, according to the medical search and consulting firm Merritt Hawkins & Associates' 2012 Review of Physician Recruiting Incentives.(Jacquelyn Smith)

While its not the highest paid career it's a good career to have and you know you'll always have a job. Even open up your own private family pediatric practice and that'll bring in more money while you're doing what you love. But as you get higher in your career the more your money goes up you just have to be patient.

The job market for a pediatrician is good. Because the well trained pediatrician is on demand in the medical field and always will be so to speak. The demand for trained schooled pediatricians are high most of the time because people are steady having children and younger children are more likely to be sick more and everything. With the medical pediatrician field there are different kinds of jobs available like the general regular pediatrician which focuses mostly overall on the health of babies, children, and teens. The second kind of job available is a Pediatric Specialist which specializes in various fields of study, the third is Neonatologist which received special training in treating and caring for premature babies or infants. Not saying the baby is sick but the baby is born earlier so everything's not fully developed. The fourth is Pediatric Sports Medicine which focus on early teens that are injured. Another is a Pediatric Surgeon which focused primarily on children to early teens that need any surgery.(

In the Pediatric/ Pediatrician field it's a lot of work a lot of money spent on schooling but its a great career to have and take part of and it's growing as time moves on. You might spends thousands on your schooling but once all the schooling is over and you can actually start your career it's well worth it. If you love babies, children, and love helping people out the pediatric medical field is the one for you and at the end of the day you won't regret it. Because the demand for pediatricians are high and the children need extra help and can't give it to themselves.
