Scholarship / Explain the extent to which you have a long-term interest in Ireland and how will you promote links [2]

3. Explain the extent to which you have a long-term interest in Ireland and how will you promote links with Ireland during your time as a GOI-IES Scholar and following your studies, as GOI-IES Alumni?

ireland's international education, market, strategies of HEIs

This is a scholarship prompt. I'm confused what points to be included for this essay. Can you please check and let me know if this sounds promising?

I have two essay options and below is what the essay show ideally portray. (1 at a time please)

-for scholarships that will highlight Ireland's strengths as a center of international education;
-to promote links with potential markets globally;
-to strengthen the internationalization strategies of HEIs especially in the context of the system performance framework.

Option 1

There were three conditions I kept in mind while choosing my country for higher education - an English-speaking country, great employment opportunities and a modern culture. Though Canada and Australia were on top of my list, I found Ireland to be an emerging location to study and work, with growing opportunities day by day. What caught my attention the most is Ireland's history of evolving through its world-class educational system and thereby making the country a globally competitive market. Gaining an offer from UCD for the project management course has been my dream-come-true and I can't wait to experience what it is like to study within the top 1% of educational institutes worldwide. My professional ambition is to extend my expertise in the field of project management for IT companies, from planning to delivery, in an effective and efficient manner. To fulfill this aim, it is necessary I acquire concrete techniques that make me competitive and set me apart from other students. I strongly believe that my academic plan will equip me with the tools to verify, analyze and assess information in events that affect people around the world.

In 2018, I attended the 'Education in Ireland' fair hoping to get insights of applying to universities. I met this gentleman, an Indian alumnus from NUI Galway. He was open to share his experience as a student and work-life in Ireland. He was keen to share tips and strategies to help me identify the right university, for the course that I wanted to undertake. It was interesting to see, how he inspired students with his personal journey, to encourage them to consider Ireland as their study destination.

Expanding student engagement is what I do best. Led by the above example I would like to create a distinct platform to share my story with prospective international students, to motivate and inspire them to make right decisions. There are multiple educational agencies in my country and I want to join them as a student representative/alumna to help others with their educational plans with Ireland.

I come from a joint family, where my dad's eldest sister and brother are born with disabilities. With poverty and poor educational facilities, they couldn't provide for their own kids, which brings us to the scenario where my dad had to take care of six children in the family, including my elder sister. My parents are the perfect example of being generous irrespective of their personal situation, without any hesitation. Post my graduation and when my financial situation improves, my dream is to support atleast one female student from a financially insecure background, from India to fly to Ireland for her higher education. Girls from rural areas are almost never given the opportunity to secure a degree. They are forced to get married at a very young age, where they pay dowry to be accepted and being homemakers, letting go of their dreams and aspirations. I want to support one person, let her dreams come true, to fly to an international destination to study, live and succeed in life.

Being part of the Ireland Education and the GOI-IES scholarship program is extremely important to me and without which my goals and aspiration would not come true. My gratitude to GOI-IES for this opportunity is immense and there are much more I would do, to give-back to the society that give me wings to accomplish my dreams...

Writing Feedback / IELTS writing task 1: The graph below shows the pollution levels in London between 1600 and 2000. [6]

You have to structure your paragraphs better. In this exaxmple - first paragraph will be yor introduction, then the overall paragraph, then about sulphur dioxide and lastly about smoke.

Also, I can see that you have used one sentense which related to subordinate clause. Please check on more on youtube to familarise yourself with this technique of writing.

Writing Feedback / IELTS Writing Task 1: International conferences in 3 cities [4]

Hi,

1. You will have to focus on adding subordinate clauses on your essay, without which you will loose marks.
2. You could add more adjectives/adverbs to show the fluctuations in the graph. For example - use words like rapidly, significantly, widely, slightly, etc
3. Lastly, for body paragraphs show a trend or for each city in this case. For example - 1. upward trend / 2. downward trend / 3. fluctuations or 1. City A 2. City B 3. City C.

Hope this is clear

Graduate / What is the benefit of becoming a GOI-IES Scholar? [3]

better education in the desired university abroad

What is the benefit of becoming a GOI-IES Scholar, to yourself (personally and professionally), to Ireland, and to your country of origin?
GOI-IES scholarship funded by the government of ireland and is for students applying to Ireland universities.

My professional aspiration and personal ambitions intersect in project management. On the career forefront, what I enjoy most about being a PMO is the diversity it brings to my day-to-day work-life; from managing people, products and technology, the role demands me to exhibit my leadership and networking skills. I am extremely gratified to have secured a place for the MSc in project management at UCD and I am confident that the course will help me acquire concrete skills and techniques to serve the corporate world.

On a personal point of view, while pursuing higher education in a reputed University abroad is my primary objective, relocating from India is really challenging in terms of managing finances. I am thereby in the pursuit of finding the right balance between being competitive, having the best facilities and programs, excellent quality of education and cost incurred.

Procuring a GOI-IES scholarship provides me with the prospect to study overseas so as to obtain a better education than in my home country. This will certainly help avoid the burden of taking a student loan and to have stress-free learning, where I will be able to maximize my college experience through service culture, volunteering chances, and internships in place of undertaking a part-time job for paying off the debt.

This generous scholarship will allow me to pursue the course in the desired university without having to compromise on the program and facilities. My dedicated academic focus will then be only on the project management with an emphasis on project implementation and stakeholder management, by taking up real-time projects. Having previously worked as a product analyst, I would like to elevate my skills to become a project manager by exploring classes such as strategy formulation and decision analysis. Moreover, obtaining this scholarship will mark me competitive, add value to my resume and present me more attractive to my future employers in addition to showcasing my exceptional academic, professional and personal abilities.

I would definitely contribute my share to the economy and welfare of Ireland by being a competent and innovative project manager in return for the top-notch education Ireland offers. My productive training will significantly increase the impact and effectiveness of Ireland's international presence as a great place to live, study, work, visit, invest and do business. If I am selected for this scholarship, it will create an international platform for me to promote Irish education, arts and culture, by means of social media, blogs and vlogs, encouraging more brilliant students to study in Ireland and thus contribute to the Irish economy.

I will be thrilled to organize various cultural events and will also represent Indian culture and art which will promote my country's values and systems. I would be glad to help my fellow students to plan a vacation or two in India, guiding them with the trip instructions and suggestions, thus promoting Indian tourism.

Overall, Ireland's investment in my education will equally benefit all stakeholders in the long run. I'm confident that this holistic education and diversity of experience undoubtedly, will serve me well in the future.
