Writing Feedback / Why should it remain the persian gulf? - Argumentative Essay [NEW]

why should it remain the persian gulf?

The Persian Gulf is located between these countries: UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iraq and Iran. The name "Persian Gulf" comes from Greeks who named the water separating the Iranian from the Arabs. Also this name recognized by the United Nations, but it is not respected any more. The British Broadcasting Corp (BBC) has been calling it "the Gulf" for over thirty years. The Al-Jazeera New agency calls it "Arabian Gulf". Iran should keep the name "Persian gulf" for historical and economical reasons.

After the Muslim Arabs attacked Iran in the 7th century AD, they did not want to change the name of the Persian Sea. The Arabs normally call this gulf as "Bahr Farsi" or Persian Sea to respect the name that the Greek had given to this waterway. This name was also respected by the Arabs, Iranian and Turkish empires for more than 1,200 years. The Persian Gulf was called by this name even before the Islam. If there was any need to change the real and historical name of the Persian Gulf, the Prophet Mohammad without doubt would have changed it.

Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE and Qatar put more effort to encourage people to use the fake or counterfeit name. What these Arab countries will achieve is more political and economical concept because they will increase rate of their commercial trade with other countries. Some of the multinational oil companies regularly use the name Arabian Gulf to satisfy their Arab friend to guaranty their profit and these companies are Earnings oriented associate. Some of these Oil companies have relation with Iran also, these companies who want to satisfy both Arabs and Iranians, and they call the "Persian Gulf" as "The Gulf" to be fair with both nations. We can wait for the Arab countries around the Persian Gulf to use their growing economic power to encourage the usage of 'Arabian Gulf'.

First, the important thing is that the name of "Persian Gulf" has effects on the thousands years of history and disrespecting this name certainly reduces that history and civilization that made around this gulf. Second, this name is validated and approved by international legal system, the United Nation. Just imagine how people and countries will react if the other nations change the name of historical place, seas, and oceans. Imagine Pakistanis calling the Indian Ocean the "Pakistanis Ocean", or the Iranians change name of the "Gulf of Oman" to the "Gulf of Iran". Obviously, renaming the historical place is not a small event and it is important to pay attention to it, economical and political. Third, these advertisements for changing the name of "Persian Gulf" is started and supported by Arabic nationalism. This nationalism is now almost disappointed to complete their dream of having a whole great Arabia Land because of falling of Baghdad and the ejection of Saddam Hussein on April 9th, 2003.

Iranians should be very smart to find a good solution for this disagreement with Arab countries. Iran has worked hard since 1997 to recover its relations with the Arab world and this aim has been somehow successful. Iran should decide a strategy for defensive the name of Persian Gulf that will be well-matched with these relations. Iran should talks with Arab countries before threats or banning.

Writing Feedback / Solutions for traffic problems - using public transportation system [2]

Traffic is one of the most common issues in the big cities around the world. Traffic may cause chemical pollution and also sound pollution. By Moving big companies from cities to countryside, managing the conflict hours, and encouraging people to use public transportation, we will overcome this problem.

There are lots of companies with a large number of employees in this area. These companies started to work years ago and grew slowly over these years. We should consider moving them to the countryside. By this change less employees drive in our cities and also the urban parts of our cities will improve. In addition people in the municipality, who are responsible for city planning, should not allow any more companies with a vast number of employees settle down in the center of the large cities because they will establish in the cities and relocating them will be harder than now.

Between 7 am to 9 am and between 4 pm to 6 pm are rush hours in our cities. By managing our time we will have good solution for the traffic. Those hours should not conflict with the hours which kids go to school or when they come back. Those hours should not conflict with the hours that banks start to work or finish their work .If it does conflict we should change our schools hours or our banks hours. By changing these schedules, the traffic will be significantly lighter because we had reduced the number of cars in the street in a certain time.

We need to encourage people to use the public transportation system, such as, metro, train, buses or even shuttle. To achieve this goal, we can return part of the taxes belong to the people who used metro for a year, or a family who have just one family car. Also by increasing the number of buses in our cities, people will encourage to use buses. By purchasing a couple of hundred new modern and elegant buses also we can catch everybody's attention to use them.

These three solutions will make traffic lighter, but certainly will not solve the traffic problems. Finally by training our next generation to replace a bicycle with a car in the short trip .we will solve the traffic problems slowly over the years.

Scholarship / "always standing in front of brick walls" - Scholarship Essay and Autobiography [6]

How about this ending?

All of the cells in my body simply shouted, I need to know more. I'm thirsty to learn more. Like my childhood dream the budget is limited and I have skipped unnecessary items. But I need more education in order to become a better engineer. I want to teach my kids how to bake cookies, how to design websites and countless other things that I myself have yet to learn.

Scholarship / "always standing in front of brick walls" - Scholarship Essay and Autobiography [6]

Brick walls are there to stop the people who don't want it badly enough - these words are from computer science professor, Mr. Randy Pausch in his last lecture. I believe this sentence, and I'm a kind of person whose brain starts to work like a computer in critical moment of life to find a best way to solve a problem. Throughout my life, I've been climbing over brick walls.

When I was fourteen and living in Iran, I heard that students in other countries had their own personal computer. My life saving from pocket money was under $60.00, and I couldn't ask my parents to buy one for me. After all, our high school laboratory only had one! I knew it that I wanted to have a computer badly, so I borrowed a book from library titled computer assembly and start to assemble my own pc. Monitor? I used our TV. The CD drive, Disk Drive, Sound card, Modem, LAN card, and even Case weren't necessary. My computer start to run with minimum equipments and the most joyful time in my life was spent watching a Microsoft windows' logo on our TV.

Some years later, I traveled halfway across the earth and lived in many countries such as Turkey, France, and Denmark. I became an engineer and began working as a software developer. Eventually, I stopped travelling around the world and settled down in Virginia for its lovely nature. When the economy got down, and I lost my job and my Job visa, I felt that I need to upgrade myself. One day I was in Nova walking down the corridor and thinking how to join to Nova .I didn't have a job. I knew how to develop software though, and I also knew how to run a website. I thought to myself, "What else can I do?" My mommy had taught me how to bake cookies! What can I do? I can design websites! And bake cookies! I'll sell cookies online!

The only things that all my cells in my body shout is: I need to know more. I'm thirsty to learn more. Like my childhood dream the budget is limited and I have skipped unnecessary items. But I need programs to run my computer one more time.I want to be a better engineer; I want to teach my kids how to bake cookies and how to design website and countless other things that I myself have yet to learn.

Writing Feedback / Many people think being single equals freedom; Disadvantages of Being Single [6]

Disadvantages of Being Single

Everything in this world has some good sides and some bad sides, advantages and disadvantages, pros and cons. Many people think being single equals freedom but it has some disadvantages that people should consider. Lack of support, not having children and loneliness are some of the most common disadvantages of being single.

Lack of support is one of the worst disadvantages of being single. When you are single you are always looking for something to catch everybody's eye. Eye catcher car, sport chrome rings, sexy dress, cool haircut and so on, comes from this feeling. Once you get married, car become a transportation facility to reach a home that is full of attention. Without a doubt one of the best pleasures in the world is the experience of giving. Every couple has the opportunity to experience this pleasure every moment. In this experience, between buying a thousand dollar outfit for yourself and a necklace, for your wife, you prefer to do the second. Treating somebody as a princess gives you the feeling you are king.

Another disadvantage of being single is to be deprived of the pleasure of having children. You feel envy every single time you see these moments: If you see a little boy learning how to ride a bike from his father, If you see a little girl sharing her ice-cream with her parents, If you see a little boy making sand castle with his mom on a beach or if you see a little girl sharing her umbrella with her father on a rainy day, this feeling is a real disadvantage of being single. For kids their parents are the strongest and most beautiful person in the world, and pleasure in the world is better than this.

Finally the other disadvantage of being single is loneliness. When you are single, you are by yourself good or bad .If you are good in accounting and bad in cooking you need to do both, while being a couple means sharing everything. Do you always forget to pay your invoices on time? Don't worry; ask your wife do it for you .Are you bad at cooking? Don't worry; ask your wife do it for you .Instead when you are washing your car, or when you are brushing your shoes, you may wash your wife's car or you can also brush her shoes.

If you know thousands of good reasons for being single, you are always looking for your mate because biologically we are born like this. After all if you ask your parent one simple question. Is getting married worth it? They all agree that yes it is.
