Essays / HOW LONG SHOULD MY COMMON APPLICATION ESSAYS BE? [5]

Hi! I'm an international student and I'm very stressed because I have no idea of how long my essays should be. How long should be my common application essay?? And not only this one, I'm also writing the additional essays (universities supplement) and some of them do not fix a maximum of words. So how long my common application essay and my additional essays should be??

In my opinion, I think you talk too much about your parents and their influence. You should talk more about your social background including your community and your high school. Nonetheless, you tlak about your goals and aspirations for the future. I think you could talk a little bit more about it and explain how all your background has influenced you to become a "..." or to have that aspirations and goals.

Scholarship / Why do you think people attend college or university (a necessary step in the life)? [4]

I think your essay is very good. However, I would add some ideas like: people study to get a good job, and most of them compete against each other to get a better place on the society and to earn more money. So, in my opinion, I think you should talk not only that people want to learn new things but also to get a good place in the society and a good salary.

But as I've said, in general is good!! Hope I've helped you ;)

Undergraduate / Commonapp short answer: leadership activities and volunteer work. [4]

Hi! I'm applying for several universities in the US and, first of all, I would like to know if I'm writing what I have to write, I mean:

-Short answer (extracurricular activities): about leadership and volunteer work activities.

-Commonapp essay: I talk about my music passion and activities (topic of my choice)

-University(ies) supplement: How I developed my leadership, the activities I'm involved in-related with leadership- and how I relate my volunteer work with my leadership (topic of my choice again).

IS IT GOOD? (Since I'm an international student applying to top universities I don't know if I'm doing it well) ANY ADVICE WILL BE HELPFUL PLEASE!! I can't find anyone here in my country to help me with that!!

SHORT ANSWER:

I will write about the forums where I participate ("New leaders", "what really matters: for a youth with values" and other organizations), how I lead the volunteer work and students government. How can I write about it?? PLEASE I NEED YOUR RESPONSES, YOU ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO CAN HELP ME WITH MY APPLICATION. HERE NO ONE CAN HELP ME!!

I think is great! My native language is also Spanish, and you have to be very proud, as I am to talk both spanish and english. You could talk how difficult was to take in practice your culture in the US. In general, it's great!

Undergraduate / International Student my Common Application (I love music) [3]

Hi! I'm an international student who needs help with the COMMON APPLICATION ESSAY!! Since I'm so far (Europe) from the USA, and I'm not familiar with any of the admissions processes in american universities, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO WRITE NOR HOW TO WRITE IT. In the common application essay I've thought in talking about how my passion about music started, who influenced me the most in music and what music activities I do. IT IS FINE TO WRITE ABOUT IT IN A COMMON APPLICATION ESSAY? Or should I write about it in the "please briefly any extracurricular activities 150 words max." space provided?

I don't know what to write about any of the "common application topics" and I also have to write the Universities' supplements, and I don't know what to do. The deadline is near and I need to do something!

To give you an idea, I love music. I'm involved in several music activities everyday. I also participate in a new Leaders and Politicians forum and I love travel and speak a lot of languages.
