Scholarship / 'I am a member of a non-profit organisation' - Extracurricular activities [2]

Short Essay
In the space below, please briefly elaborate on one of your extracurricular activities or work experiences, and explain what you learned from it (maximum 250 words).

When I was at school I was a member of the local school organisation. We were a small group of students with big dreams and aims. The membership helped me to develop my personal skills as leadership, organizational skills and communication skills. I found a lot of friends and followers and we are still keeping in touch.

Now I am a member of a non-profit organisation which main activity is related to participation in projects under the European Commission's program. I have the opportunity to take part in exchanges and training courses, which are held in different parts of Europe. Establishing new contacts and friendships with my peers from across Europe I am developing my intercultural dialogue and communication. Along with the beauties of Europe, we provide young people with the opportunity to get to know the natural and historic treasures of our country - the "Travel Bulgaria" team organizes monthly visits to various tourist destinations in Bulgaria. We have different projects and every one of us is seeking for an opportunity to make our reality a better place for the young people. The organization helped me to learn how important is to be able to work in a team as this is the easiest way to make my dreams and ideas reality. It helped me to connect to my community and make it a better place. I made new friends and contacts not only in my country but from whole over the world.

Please help me to make some improvements. I have to send it this night :(

Undergraduate / 'Education and knowledge of different cultures' - Rutgers Application [2]

Though New Jersey is a very diverse state, Rutgers offers a safe and comfortable way of interacting(interesting what?) with people of different culture.
When I visited Rutgers New Brunswick I saw immediately saw signs of diversity when I met a young man named Pier from
The lesions and value taught to me by my family has taught me are to be a better and respectful and respectable person.
Getting to know different people is a great because there is something interesting about everyone that you will never discover unless you socialize with them, which is one thing high schools lack. This is the thing you can not experience at the high school

Be careful with the grammar and iterations. Better find some teacher who can check your grammar. You have clear idea about the topic but you should practise more

Scholarship / 'Marketing management intrigues me' - Study Objectives Essay - Scholarship [NEW]

ESSAY #1: STUDY OBJECTIVES (MAXIMUM 500 WORDS)
*REQUIREDWrite a clear and detailed description of your study objectives, and give your reasons for wanting to pursue them in the United States. Be specific about your field of study and the concrete benefits you expect from studying in the United States. Please limit your response to 500 words or less.

The future is shaped by our present thinking. This is my philosophy, put into daily practice; so my future is firmly set in my mind. The one thing remaining is to set free my future, perhaps similar to a sculptor who first envisages his art, and then realizes it.

I left the peaceful city of Lom, September 2009 to embark on a new journey of my life as an university student. After two years at University of National and World Economics, without a doubt, I am convinced that Business economics is the right career path for me. Being an entrepreneur at heart, I enjoy the environment of discussing business especially when it interacted with communication and marketing. As my passion for business and economics grew, I discovered that while UNWE offer me a great lead way into my initial studies in economics, it doesn't offer me the many resources United States has. As one of the worlds' most developed countries, America is going to play an accelerating role in achieving my aims. Getting all bits and pieces of knowledge on Economics and Business and using all the facilities available to me in the United States are going to be my primary tools for reaching my destiny.

Specifically, my areas of interest include Marketing management, Economics and Intercultural Communication.
Economics is of importance to me because I will learn a lot of skills and knowledge that I can apply to my business or to my personal life. Learning about interest rates, exchange rates, economic indicators and equity markets can help me make better decisions about investing and obtaining mortgages.

Marketing management intrigues me, because it is focused on the practical application of marketing techniques and the management of a firm's marketing resources and activities.

Intercultural Communication will give me theoretical background and practical training in intercultural communication. It will help me to see the salient features cultures, and to learn to communicate with people respecting the differences and making the best possible use of them. I am interested in cultural differences in communication and the influence of culture on sensation and perception. Also I want to develop my language skills and to start learning German or Italian wherefore it will make my international communication more beneficial and eliminate any barriers with my foreign friends and colleagues.

By studying in America for one year I have the opportunity to be immersed into a dynamic business-oriented community, but at the same time still having that wonderful university experience. After this process, I am going to major in Business Administration and return to my home country thereafter start my own business. My focus is also on improving my community by making Eco-business dedicated to the expansion of environmental awareness in our society.

Being in a more cultural and diverse city atmosphere, where I am stimulated by new ideas and can meet different people from all walks of life with different experiences and backgrounds will help develop my character as a socially conscious human being.

Scholarship / 'Small town and my English teacher' - Biographical Essay [NEW]

ESSAY #2: BIOGRAPHICAL ESSAY (MAXIMUM 500 WORDS)
Please describe a major event or an important person that you believe has had a significant influence on your life and has helped you grow and become the person you are today. Please limit your response to 500 words or less.

I grew up in a small town near a river where the nature is vastly beautiful and breathtaking. It was a place prepossessing to have a great memorable childhood and big dreams as it was for me. Although all people knew each other and were friends sometimes small cities are closed for new ideas and different way of thinking. That is the reason why I will never forget the person I am going to tell you about as it was one of the first events shaped me as a person.

I was in eighth grade and one day my English teacher asked me and my classmates to follow her to the teacher's room because she had to introduce us to a special person. We all became curious and nervous but we immediately went in front of the door. When we came in I looked around the room and I saw a sophisticated man who was sitting near the window and drinking tea. Unfortunately, I can't remember his name but I will never forget his face - I felt his irradiation and assuredness. He was a man from the U.S. Embassy who just wanted to talk with us about our future and the way we can achieve our goals.

First of all the man asked us about our dreams and goals. We all had big dreams so the man told us we were the happiest people on the world. He said: "Nowadays to have dreams is a bad thing - people are afraid having radical dreams, people are afraid to set goals because they have fear of failure." The man talked to us for three hours but it was like a minute for me - I was shocked and fascinated from his speech and ideas whereafter my mindset changed totally. He told us never to give up on our dreams and showed us how important the education is for our future by using examples form his life. I understood how decisive is to work hard as this is the only way to become a valuable person and to be able to help other people. I learned to control my focus and to have a burning desire to achieve my result which is tied to a specific, clear goal. He showed me how to create more choices in my life and move myself in the direction I want so no longer seeing education as work but as an opportunity. I have and will continue to seize that opportunity and try to find a way to make value for other people because it makes me feel fulfillment.

This is one of the first persons who radically shaped my way of thinking and my life. After I met him I was thinking again and again over his words. I talked with my friends from the local school organisation I was a member of and we created a project for inviting more people like this man. It was my way to inspire my classmates and to help them in building their own future and to be not afraid of the changes in their lifes. I saw factors caused me to grow and I believe every challenge I have faces has made me the person who I am today.
