Writing Feedback / TOEFL - 'Beethoven' - A person in history whom you want to talk to [NEW]

Music has become an essential part of every one's life and many musical artists have also been idols of many people. Since a child, I had chance to enjoy a lot of works of Beethoven, a great pianist and composer in 19th century. If I had a chance to travel back to human historical time, I would see him at all cost.

The first motive urging me to meet him is his talent. It's undeniable that each of Beethoven's sonatas presents a very different melody and meaning. The subtlety and gentleness of his music make him become a great musician of Classic and Romantic School. If had chance to talk to him, I would spend most of my time to understand what is his key to the success in music which I have pursued and regarded as my best friend.

The second reason why I would like to see him is his fortitude. Everyone knows that his hearing ability became impaired when he was just at the age of adolescence. However, he did not give up his composing career. A lot of works were written and most of them are well-received during his difficult time. Speaking to him will help me understand more deeply about how a person can overcome hazards to succeed. This will be a good lesson for me to develop my own ability to adapt to harsh conditions in my life.

The third reason for my wish is his loneliness. Beethoven gained a lot of love and admire from audience but he had to spend most of his time with loneliness. I just want to become a friend of him so that he has opportunities to share his life stories as well as secret feelings inside him, making him be happier.

To cut a story short, Beethoven will be forever one of the greatest musicians in human hearts. I believe that I'm not an exception wishing of seeing him. His talent as well as his fortitude is always a good thing to follow. However, he also needs friend. If possible, just come to talk to him and share with him!

Writing Feedback / TOEFL - Should schools focus more on teaching cooperation or on teaching competition? [2]

RESPONSE:
In modern society, cooperation and competition are not applied separately but interactively and sometimes overlapped with each other. Therefore, education on cooperation and competition has become a controversial topic for ages. Should schools primarily teach students how to compete with others or should primarily teach students how to cooperate with others?

Some people spot that competition education should be more focused on because competitions take places every where at any time, and knowing how to win competitions is so useful for our later lives. For an instance, it will be an advantage of sport team if everyone is a good competitive member. Also, in business, competition is not only a barrel but also motive, a successful entrepreneur must be a clever contester.

On the other hand, many people believe that schools should more concentrate on teaching how to cooperate with others. This second group thinks that a man benefits a lot from successful cooperation. First of all, when we are in schools, good collaboration brings us more friends, better group studying and a lot of fun in extra-curriculum activities. Secondly, in working, cooperation is the key to fulfill common tasks, to complete assigned missions and to achieve organizational goals.

Personally, I find that I can not align my self completely with either group. I have some reservation about both positions. Good competition skills help me be more confident and active in harsh conditions while excellent cooperation skills bring me friendly and warm environment to study, work and survive. In general, it's not the issue that which should be focused more but it's how to teach students to smartly compete and cooperate at right times and right places.

Writing Feedback / TOEFL Essay - Small or large class - which is better? [NEW]

I have just started writting TOEFL essay, thus, your support is so much appreciated!
.
TOPIC:

Do you agree a disagree with this statement: It's much easier to learn in small class than in a large one. Use specific examples and reasons to support your answer.

RESPONSE:

Choosing class is always one of the greatest concerns of parents as well as students. It's not only the subject/the faculty students will pursue but also how well classes are organized and how open spaces of classes are. Many people agree that it's much easier to attend in a small class while another group prefers a large one. There are some goods reasons make me align my self with the first group.

Everyone acknowledges that a large class brings a lot of convenience to students. First of all, in such place, there are so many friends, and as a result, students have more choices to choose the best one as a learning partner or a close friend. Secondly, a large class also provides students with a lot of opportunities to see many people. This means they can benefits from adopting new knowledge and skills from such different friends. Finally, in class discussion, there will be a lot of distinguishing ideas and arguments, making more this section more interesting.

However, there are many better reasons to agree that in a small class, students find it easier to study. The first one is that in such a close space, teachers can take care of students more than in the large one. This creates connection between teachers and students, making students find it easier to understand teachers' explanation. Besides, a small class also helps students to listen to lectures more clearly and avoid mishearing. Moreover, because distances between teacher and students get closer, and lectures are adopted by students clearly, students can stay away from distraction and more concentrate in classes.

In most countries, education systems are also organized in a manner that the younger pupils are, the smaller classes are. For example, in Vietnam, we only find large lecture halls in universities. In from-primary-to-high-school period, pupils always attend smaller classes.

In general, even though there are some reasons to believe that a large class can bring students better environment. However, in my opinion, small classes are always easier places to study.

Writing Feedback / "Do zoos serve any useful function?" - TOEFL ESSAY - ZOOS [2]

TOPIC:
Some people believe that zoos serve useful function. Other people believe that it's cruel & wrong to confine animals in zoos. Tell which point of view you are agree with.

RESPONSE:

It has become quite a common hobby of children that they usually spend their free time in zoos. Zoos have been established for ages all over the world and have become interesting places for entertainment. Over the time, there are also a lot of arguments concerning whether zoos are helpful in serving people or they are just some kinds of bad treatments to animals.

Some people spot out that humanities benefit so much from zoos. First of all, zoos are fascinating places of entertainment. For this point, they all think that the very nature and wildness are all brought into zoos and spending time there help us to forget all stress as well as pressure. Another function that all zoos serve relates to education. Many students as well as people find zoos as good places for witnessing and researching the true animal world. Moreover, some zoos are also reservation sites of many animals that are about to become extinct.

On the other hand, there are, however, people who think that zoos just take away freedom of animals. Being confined, animals may lose their own nature as well as wildness and feel upset and discontented. In their opinion, zoos are some kind of prisons and it's so cruel and wrong to keep animal in such prisons.

From my point of view, I agree with the first group. In modern life, zoos have become even more important in serving as places for people to study and enjoy the nature while a lot of natural destruction is made to build towers and skyscrapers. Besides, recently, zookeepers have also tried their best to make animals feel more comfortable by making artificial landscapes more familiar to the nature, taking care all animals in both feeding and sanity.
