Writing Feedback / TOEFL: I think that there are still a lot of different types of movies [3]

do you agree or disagree with the following statment? i think there is to much violence in movies. give specific reasons and examples to support your response.

PLEASE NOTE: that i wrote it within 30 min. and give me your honest opinion about how much i could score out of 10 points.

The saying "I think there is too much violence in movies" is stating that the film industry is heading toward violent movies making nowadays. However, In my opinion I think that there are still a lot of different types of movies, and that only few of them has strong or violent scenes in them, and there are numerous reasons that proves my disagreement.

For one thing, a specific type of movies have some violence in them. These films are what we call action movies, and from their names we can see that strong scenes, like car chase, explosions, and more are important parts of the movie's plot, and that it is somewhat necessary. For instance, a film about the battles that occurred during the world war one is bound to have explosives, guns, and even blood; as an important factor of the story.

Moreover, the film industry is making all kinds of movies that have their audience, because after all not everyone likes action or horror movies. If someone has a problem with this type of movies, then he or she can always watch something else, after all, there are thousands of movies, and only a few might be the wrong choice for them. For example, a lot movies like drama, comedy, romance, adventure, and even animated movies are completely violence free.

Furthermore, the degree of violence in movies hadn't changed one bit in the history of movie making. What changed in them are probably the techniques and the machineries that have been used to create such scenes. For example the explosions that where created in old movies differ greatly that the one created in new ones, and that is because of the evolution of this industry.

In conclusion, what is great about movies is that they can take you to a different world in seconds, but it is up to the viewer to decide what he wants to see, and that hadn't changed one bit from the beginning of this phenomenon.

Writing Feedback / TOEFL :Which do u prefer living in an apartment or living in a dorm? [4]

in the TOEFL exam when they ask "you which do you prefer?" you have to choose one choice and then talk about it, u don't need to mention the other one, plus, u need to use the 5 paragraph outline like this:

you should introduce the topic, like you did, and then give your opinion "i prefer to live in an apartment". (then you give reasons and examples):

reason 1 ,explain it, give example
reason 2 ,explain it, give example
reason 3,explain it, give example
then you summarize everything you just stated in the conclusion.

Writing Feedback / TOEFL ; DIFFICULTIES of learning a NEW LANGUAGE [8]

The topic: it can be quite difficult to learn a new language. what do you think are the most difficult aspects of learning a new language? Give reasons and examples to support your response.

the answer:

Learning a new language became a necessity in the modern life. It can be fun and exciting to be able to speak a language that is different from the mother language; however, with learning a new language there is a lot of difficulties that one has to overcome. Some of these difficulties are:

First of all, being grammatically correct. Not only it is hard to learn the grammar of a totally different language from your own, but it is also tough to be able to distinguish the grammatical differences between the two languages; i.e., grammatical phenomenon that exist in one language doesn't mean that it exist in another one. For instance, the grammatical rules in the Arabic language differ significantly from that of the English language. For one thing, Arabic has more than ten different pronouns, whereas, English has only few.

Not to mention, the Syntax, this means how the words are arranged to create a well-formed sentence. The formation of a phrase can differ greatly from one language to another; wrong order of words leads to incorrect or deviated sentences. Add to that a few grammatical errors, and the sentence won't make sense at all.

Moreover, there is the issue that the phonetics poses. Specifically, the one about having letters that differ notably from one alphabet to another; for example: the letter "P" exists in English, French, German, etc.., but it doesn't exist in Arabic, which might be an issue for an Arabic student to be able to pronounce the "P" easily.

As shown above, learning a new language is a bit tricky, because of the troublesome differences between all languages. However, once the person overcomes these problems he will master the new language in no time.

Writing Feedback / IELTS- Using gap year for travel or working is good or bad? [7]

travel is the best way to discover new things and gain a better understanding of people in the world with one's own eyes which are not written in books.

In my opinion it should be something like this:
"travel is the best way to discover new things and to gain a unique perspective on the human nature in different countries, which, no book could ever describe better than one's own experience."

Writing Feedback / TOEFL Essay: "Haste makes waste" do you agree with the statement or not ? [4]

The topic: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement "haste makes waste" use specific reasons and examples.
The answer:

This saying is stating that every fast and not well thought decision is a wasted one. In my opinion, this statement is completely true, for these few reasons:

For one thing, making a quick decision means that it's not very thought out, and that it hasn't been checked from all its aspects. Consequently, leading to a probable bad end result. For example: if someone decided to quit his job without really thinking about the alternative, or a plan B, he could end up being unemployed, because of his speedy decision.

In addition, making a rushed decision could also mean that the person is missing out on a potential opportunity .In another word, if this person had waited and thought his decision through he wouldn't have missed out on the job opening in the same firm, but at a different position. Hence, he wouldn't have been unemployed.

Not to mention, that hasty decisions, not only goes to waste, but also, could affect the entire life of the person. To put it differently, is that after this person has quit his job and became unemployed. He can no longer pay his bills nor buy what he needs for his everyday needs, thus, his life had taken a turn to the worst.

As can be seen from this, is that a hurried decision is almost never a good one. That's why one should always study his decision carefully and slowly, to ensure that the decision that the person is making is the best for him.
