Writing Feedback / It is clear to be seen that NGOs, social groups and communities are ubiquitous in recent years [3]

Young people are much more aware of and concerned about issues like the environment, poverty, and animal welfare than previous generations. What is your own opinion?

Many people believe that both young and old people are sharing the same amount of interest in global problems such as the environment, poverty, animal welfare, etc. at the moment. Nevertheless, I feel that these social issues are much more concerned about by younger generation.

First, it is clear to be seen that NGOs, social groups and communities are ubiquitous in recent years. They are established all over the world and mostly by young people. The duty of the members who joined these groups and organizations may be to clean the streets, collect garbage or collect old books and clothes and send them to those who could not earn enough to afford.

Second, it is necessary for young people to take quick action to tackle all the dangerous issues before it is too late. Young people are the future generation of their nations specifically and of the world generally. It is undeniable that problems today are what young generation will have to face with tomorrow. Therefore, the sooner these problems are completely solved, the more peaceful life young people will be able to enjoy.

Last but not least, it is one typical way of showing sympathy and patriotism by taking care of social issues like the environment or poverty. For example, a rather small action like raising money for charity may save a large number of people who find it quite difficult affording a meal from dying of starving. As a result, the pressure on the government wanes and it may focus on developing other fields of the country.

In conclusion, it is impossible to say old people do not take care of global issues which are occurring. However, to some extent, young generation still show more interest in them.

Writing Feedback / Changes of the seaside resort of Templeton between 1990 and 2005. IELTS Task 1 [3]

The maps below show the changes that have taken place at the seaside resort of Templeton between 1990 and 2005.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The maps show the development that occurred at the seaside resort of Templeton from 1990 to 2005.

In 1990, the resort was much greener with a large number of trees but during the 15 years period the area witnessed a number of enormous changes. The most noticeable is that almost all of the trees were chopped down to make way for other buildings and the railway was stretched across the river to the west. Skyscrapers were built north-east of the lake. There was also a new airport constructed beside the river. In the south-east of the resort, trees and single dwellings were completely cleared to give way to a factory. Moreover, skyscrapers and a supermarket sprang up in the south-west of the area to replace trees and houses. A ferry was also built at the edge of the seaside.

Overall, the resort underwent a development from largely old to a more modernized landscape.

Writing Feedback / IELTS: The contribution of agriculture, manufacturing and business sectors to the UK economy [7]

The chart provides the information about the proportion of agriculture, manufacturing and business and financial services in the UK economy from 1900 to 2000.

It can be clearly seen from the data that there was a downward trend in the percentage of manufacturing while the figure for business and financial went up over the period. In 1900, agriculture contributed the largest part to the UK economy with 50%, followed by manufacturing with about 40% and the remaining part was of business and financial. In 1950, agriculture was still the leader with over 50%. The figure for manufacturing fell slightly to 40% but considerably higher than that for business and financial. 25 years later, agriculture witnessed a substantial drop to only 10% whereas business and financial doubled the percentage in 1950. In 2000, business and financial was the biggest contributor to the UK economy with 35% with manufacturing coming second (15%) and the last one was agriculture.

The highest percentage of expense was in food, at 44% in 1966, but it sharply dropped to 14% in 1996. In contrast, the proportion of expense on cars nearly doubled, rising from 23% to 45% within 30 years.

The proportion of expenditure on computer had a significant rise at the fastest pace, increasing from 1% to 10% (it's not the fastest) . However, the figure about books saw a dramatically downward trend, declining to only 1% in 1996.
