Writing Feedback / Work and travel for a year? - do not forget to read enough books and improve your knowledge [9]

In some countries young people are encouraged to work and travel for a year between finishing high school and starting university studies.
Discuss the advantages and disadvantages for young people who decide to do this.

There are some young people who prefer to work or travel to some country instead of entering university after finishing school. Even though they have several reasons for doing so and may gain huge advantages, still, taking a break from studies from studies also carries some drawbacks.

Many young people want to study at universities, no matter whether they are situated in their home country or abroad. However, to archive this goal they often face with financial problems to pay for their tuition fees at universities. Apparently, having a good paid job they can save enough money to continue their education. This is true mostly in undeveloped and developing countries.

In the same way, there are young people, especially from developed countries, who can allow themselves to travel around the world. By travelling to other countries they can get a huge life experience which would be useful for their future studies. In addition, if a young man wants to develop his/her language skills of the country where he/she wants to study, living abroad for one year is also a good option.

However, one of the disadvantages of not entering university after finishing school is that some people can change their mind during one year of working or travelling. They tend to think that they are able to make a carrier without higher education, and as a consequence, they refuse to be a student and get a university diploma. Besides, as they start getting to forget some knowledge gained at school, they might not have enough time to prepare for university entrance exams.

In summary, I think that it is possible for young people to work and travel for one year before entering university, if they work hard and do not forget to read enough books and improve their knowledge in order to enter university.

Undergraduate / Competitive children can archive more in their adult life; competition or co-operation? [3]

Thanks for the corrections!

now they know how and what to do in situations when they should show why they have to be on the first places and not other ones.

this statement is not clear. please clarify your idea.

I mean, those people, I mentioned in the previous sentence, having learned from their childhood competition skills, they know what to do in situations when it needs to compete with their rivals. Their success come from the skills they acquired in their childhood.

Undergraduate / Competitive children can archive more in their adult life; competition or co-operation? [3]

Hi guys! I need your help to correct my mistakes. This sample task on Writing is from IELTS preparation book. Thanks!

Some people think that sense of competition in children should be encouraged. Others believe that children who are taught to co-operate rather than compete become more useful adults.

Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

It is essential for every parent to give his/her children good upbringing that would well serve for their future. There are people who tend to think that children have to learn competition skills from early life. On the contrary, other people's opinion is that co-operation is a key for success in upbringing. Both views are based on several reasons.

Competition among children studying, for example, at elementary or secondary school can help them to understand how to survive in the real life being alone and hence prepare them in advance for competitive life. For instance, many famous artists, scientists, inventors had to compete with their fellows from childhood; now they know how and what to do in situations when they should show why they have to be on the first places and not other ones. Moreover, competition makes a child to work harder and to put forth a great effort. It is true for any competition where they want to participate, be they sport games or school contests.

Alternatively, people who believe that co-operation benefits a child rely on that a child can learn how to work as a team member when everyone helps and advises each other. If a child ever faces difficult problems then he/she always can rely on his/her friends. This is how they learn to be socially responsible and solve problems in unity. In addition, working in a team generates different ideas applied in completing tasks.

To conclude, in my opinion, competitive children can archive more in their adult life as they have to make it best and act alone without any help. While we should also not to forget to work together when circumstances are different and demand other people's help.
