Writing Feedback / The map illustrates 2 possible spots for building a new school. IELTs task 1 [4]

For this part, I don't think you should put too much of your own opinion such as this: Aside from that benefit, S1 is much closer to the university than S2 do, and thus this can espouse you to keep in touch with your sibling as you guys grow up.

To fulfill the 150 words requirement, what you can do is describing the information in more detail. For example, this is a map, so you should describe the direction of things related to each other. Example: The town of Canterbury is located 7 km east of Chartham and 5 km west of Sturry, S2 is at the southern edge of the town center, etc.

Writing Feedback / Movements to stop and prevent global warming have been getting tractions in the past few decades. [3]

Climate change and about the roles that Government, Corporates and Individuals can play to improve it.

Movements to stop and prevent global warming have been getting tractions in the past few decades. While this should be a joint effort by everyone, I believe that governments around the world play the key role on this issue.

We cannot rely on individual or private entities because they are generally selfish, and only act based on their own interests. There are many examples around the world where companies do serious damage to the environment in order to minimize costs and obtain higher profit. One recent example is the BP oil well accident in Gulf of Mexico which polluted the ocean with a huge amount of oil and caused devastating damage to marine ecosystem.

Although we cannot change the nature of people, we certainly can regulate them. The BP incident could have been prevented had the government implemented stricter regulations on offshore oil drilling and production. Government regulation is the only way to stop global environmental issues. We have to learn from history. In the nineties, the world was also facing a serious environmental problem, the ozone depletion. Global leaders worked together and produced what is known as Kyoto Protocol, a treaty signed by almost every nation to stop using Freon in order to prevent further damage of the ozone layer. The protocol was successful, the danger was averted and now the ozone is almost back to normal.

In essence, we cannot rely on individuals to stop global warming. World leaders have to work together, just like they did twenty year ago to solve ozone depletion.

Writing Feedback / Latin or Greek - should we teach dead languages? [2]

It has recently been suggested that the classical, or "dead" , languages Latin and Greek should be
re-introduced into the school curriculum. Those that oppose the idea claim that the ancient languages
are of no practical use and no help in getting a job. Those in favor of the idea say that education is more about training the mind than preparing for a career.

One issue with the idea of teaching classical language in schools is that it is very unrealistic to get the students to reach any level of fluency. Learning a language is all about immersion. In order to succeed, students not only have to pay attention in classroom and do the assignments, they also have to read, speak, and write the language whenever possible. This poses a problem because typically, people do not encounter Latin or Greek anywhere outside the classrooms.

Furthermore, introducing classical languages into the curriculum is also impractical, especially since the school time can be used to teach the more useful languages instead, such as Spanish, French, or Chinese. This compromise covers both the practical necessity and the mind stimulation aspects of teaching.

Nonetheless, given the influence of these languages on human civilization, schools should be able to pique children's interest to learn them. One feasible way to do this is by placing special chapters in history books about ancient Greek and Roman cultures. This in turn can aspire some students to actively learn more about the languages in their own time.

To conclude, it is unrealistic and impractical to teach classical languages in school. What a teacher can do is to aspire students to learn these languages on their own will.

Writing Feedback / PTE Essay: A Computer can perform simple but repetitive tasks much faster than a human can [2]

Prompt: When computers first appeared on the scene, it was thought the y would make us more productive in
providing goods and services, smarter and possibly happier. Skeptics claim that the opposite is true as
computers have proved disappointing in terms of productivity, and have made us less happy and more
stupid because information is not knowledge.
Which of these points of view do you agree with most? Support your argument with reasons and or
examples from your own experience and observations.

There is no doubt that the use of computers increase our productivity. A Computer can perform simple but repetitive tasks much faster than a human can. For example, Spreadsheet calculations, which is commonly needed in any workplace, may take days if done manually. Any modern computer can finish the same task within a fraction of a second.

Computers also make us smarter. While it is true that ease of access to information does not equal knowledge, it is hard to argue that they are not closely correlated. A computer can not only make learning faster, but also more fun. Some of the Youtube channels that use videos to teach elementary school materials for kids are lauded as huge success in terms of effectiveness. On a higher level, graduate students can quickly find relevant articles about their research topics from thousands of published journals and books. It is hard to imagine how tedious this process can be before computers.

However, it is hard to see the effect of computers on people's happiness, as happiness itself is something that we cannot objectively measure, at least for now. Computers bring people around the world closer, which is generally considered good. On the other side, people seem to have less time and are always attached to their jobs. This makes them more prone to stress.

To conclude, it is easy to see why people are smarter and more productive because of the introduction of computers. However, whether or not it makes us happier is still open for debate.
