application letter
Dear Recruitment Department,
I am writing to express my big interest in your company's developer position. After researching, I find that Schrödinger is the ideal company that matches both my personal experience and my dream ideal. I was freshly graduated with a major in energy and chemical engineering and a minor in computer science engineering from South Korea. Before graduating I gained skills and knowledge about research and science as a research assistant in laboratories. I also spent about one year as a software engineer for an application with millions of users in Vietnam. With a good understanding of chemistry science, I would bring feasible, user-friendly software, as I used to be the user of some chemical software. In detail, some highlight of my previous experience includes:
· Experience the real scientific research process.
· Knowledge about nanoscience and organic chemistry (perfect scores and research experience).
· Experience software development process in a product with millions of users.
· Received the internal award for developing and deploying new features.
I always dream to bring benefits to many people immediately with my work. Two years ago, I left the research at laboratories because the science I work with is only to find new interesting phenomena and not bring any goods to people in near future. I was so stressed at that time and find out that coding is an alternative to pursue my interest. Day by day I programmed to satisfy people. I was happy with programming and the ways it brings benefits to people. Sometimes I thought that I was right to not follow the science path. Accidentally, Covid.19 and Schrödinger changed my mind. Programming can help to accelerate the process to bring science to life at a much lower cost. I recognize that I can save people's money and lives with my training in the past. Schrödinger is the ideal company that can give me that chance to drive me closer to my dream.
My favorite lecture is about entropy and free Gibbs energy in NanoChemistry class. I also love and watched a lot of videos about Schrödinger's cat experiment after quantum, chemistry class. Many reasons make me want to be a part of Schrödinger. Do not hesitate to reach out via my mail if you have any questions or need further classification on my experience. I would love to meet you and discuss this position in detail.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Chau Long Do
