I received my PhD in genetics from the XXX in Sept. 2009. My Ph.D dissertation consisted of two chapters . The first chapter was to characterize the function of XXX. This work was published in the Journal of Neuroscience. The second chapter was that XXX. Our results indicated that XXX. This work was published in Neuroscience Research. - This paragraph had a mix of past and present tense. I'm suspecting you would rather have it in the past since the dissertation was done in Sept. 2009.

As my curriculum vitae shows，I am currently working in XXX as a postdoc fellow. I'm carrying out the work to study XXX. I have a strong experience in Drosophila genetics, confocal and electron microscopy, electrophysiology, molecular biology and cell culture. (perhaps you wish to elaborate on the specifics of your experiences in your field of study?) I have enclosed a copy of my curriculum vitae.

Mingkuan, I challenge you to write one sentence that is SO interesting that it will surprise the reader... something unexpected. What can you do to make this memorable? I think you probably have one very unique idea that motivates you, and if you find the words to express it... it will be fascinating!
