The volunteer position of London Korean School has attracted me since beginning of my high school year. Since beginning of grade 9, I dreamed of being one of the team members to teach young students about extraordinary Korean culture and heritage. Many young students stand in the middle of balance beam trying to balance two sides of heritages. Balancing both side of heritage equally is probably one of the hardest tasks given to these children. Having two cultures at the same time may seem like another difficult math question where it seems impossible to find a solution to it. However, I believe this should be viewed as a great opportunity to experience variety of cultures and languages. During the summer in Korean School, I would like to teach these children how to turn their perspective of having two cultures as an advantage rather than a disadvantage. This would be a great chance for young children to learn how fun it is to experience different cultures and languages and develop themselves to be more sociable and globally well-rounded person who can look at issues from many different perspectives. I believe young Korean children should have opportunity to achieve knowledge about remarkable beauty of Korean culture and language. London Korean language and heritage school is the perfect place to attain these opportunity and I would thrive to be part of the volunteer team of Korean language school.
