An Open Letter to Your Parents

I am the type of person who is not showy, a kind of person who loves and care silently. But I try to show how much I appreciate someone through little ways. I hope through this letter that I wrote for both of you, Mama and Ama, I can say the things which I cannot tell you in person.

If you thought I never listened to your lectures, I honestly always did. I have learned a lot from all the meaningful things that you've said. I want you to know that it really breaks my heart when I see you cry. For that, I will try my very best to never make you sad. I also want to let you know that every time I hug you, my heartaches seem to fade. I still feel safe and protected whenever you're around. Thank you for being supportive. Thank you for all the care and warmth you give. Thank you so much for who I am, Mama.

I know we're not that close to each other yet you're the person I will miss the most here in Saudi. I don't want to leave you alone but that's just the way how life goes. I'll make sure to study well for you and all the exhaustion you have experienced for us. Just please also make sure you are going to take care of yourself always. Thank you so much for all of your sacrifices, Ama.

I want to let you know how much I appreciate everything you have done for me in the past 16 years. I don't think I could've made it here without you. I am so lucky to have such great parents. Thank you for everything. I love you both so much!

Don't begin a sentence with "but." Perhaps you could condense this into one sentence. For example: Although I am a somewhat reserved person, I try to show how much I appreciate someone in little ways.

I think you are missing an opportunity to do something great... You should add a paragraph to let them know what your intentions are, what your short term goals are. A student with a plan is most impressive.
