My passion for sales and business development led me to pursue a role as a Business Developer at an Indonesian vanilla export company. Working directly with our French partners on client coordination, sales, and product negotiation gave me practical insights into commercial and operational challenges of cross-border trade. These experiences motivated me to deepen my knowledge in export market development and international sales strategy through the Master in International Business Engineering at IAE Montpellier, to build my export company in the future.
The previous academic journey in Information Technology also nurtured my interest in sales and business, as it trained me in analytical thinking and problem-solving. During this time, I founded a Food & Beverage (F&B) venture, Ayam Goreng Sebrang, which received recognition from the local government for creativity and community empowerment. Managing this business sharpened my focus on quality consistency, customer engagement, and operational management. My involvement in mentoring local MSMEs in the SiBakul Jogja community further developed these skills as I supported business owners with inventory management and workflow organization. These experiences further built the entrepreneurial mindset that now directs my focus toward international sales.
My work in export operations involved coordinating between local suppliers and international buyers on price negotiation, shipment arrangement, and quality control, which improved effective communication across the supply chain. In 2024, I succeeded in acquiring five new buyers and secured repeat orders from existing clients. While my coordination skills provide a solid foundation, I have recognized that driving business growth requires deeper expertise in pricing strategy, market development, and long-term commercial agreements, competencies I aim to develop during my master's studies.
The Master in International Business Engineering at IAE Montpellier, specifically the International Sales specialization, is the best fit for my objectives. Courses such as International Sales, Negotiation and Communication Business, and Innovation Management align perfectly with my career goals. Upon completing my studies, I would like to work as an international sales or export manager, particularly in companies linking Southeast Asia and Europe, such as Louis Dreyfus Company. In the long term, I plan to establish an export business specializing in high-quality Indonesian agricultural products. Through this venture, I aspire to strengthen trade relations between Indonesia and France by supplying reliable, well-priced goods that meet market demand. As a future IAE Montpellier alumnus, I hope to serve as a commercial bridge between the two regions.
