Motivation Letter
Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is XXXXX senior software engineer at Vodafone international services with geoscience background. I have gained my bachelor degree in geology and geophysics from the University of XXXXX in XXXX, followed by higher studies diploma in computer science from XXXXX University, then preliminary master in computer science.
I have always been fascinated by computers and particularly programming, during my undergraduate studies I had the chance to study wide variety of geoscience subjects like remote sensing, geographic information science, seismic data processing, inversion for geophysical data, well logging, and engineering geology. These courses put into my perspective the relevance of computer science technologies and the power of computers to handle different types of spatial data operations efficiently without being carried out manually which could be error-prone and low performance due to the high volume of the data.
Furthermore, I have found that there is an entire industry to develop intelligent solutions such as ERDAS and ESRI Arcgis, hence I recognized the importance of acquiring advanced skills to build robust solutions which require deep study in computer science particularly software engineering, So once I graduated I joined the two years higher studies diploma program at XXXX University in parallel with my mandatory military service which was very challenging to balance due to tough nature of military life and during the second year of the diploma started my first professional career job in Huawei company as software engineer which is enabled me to apply my technical knowledge in large scale software projects in telecommunications domain which is encouraged me to join the pre-master program seeking for more advanced courses in computer science, especially artificial intelligence topics.
After more than two years of hard work and learning new things in multicultural work environment where I have been worked with persons from different nationalities, I moved to Vodafone international services as a senior software engineer, solving daily real-world problems and working with massive volume of data that have special complexity to support business decisions with data driven insights, many features in the data are concerned with location and spatial properties which is revealed the importance of spatial analysis skills in real business problems.
The idea of continuing my post studies abroad never leave my head, seeking outstanding education, especially in geoinformatics and spatial data science field where choices are very limited in addition to comparing quality versus the cost needed for that was challenging to find the best solution.
Germany where all advantages mentioned above are present, Germany's higher education is famous for its good reputation globally which is changed my direction to qualify myself to study in Germany's institutions that will enable me to study and gain practical work experience at the same time.
Also, the existence of multinational people from several countries in Germany made it best destination that welcome diversity with different cultures, so for me, it's the best choice to take my academic and professional career to the next level with no doubts.
Munster city considers as the city of students where Munster university lies with more than 45,000 students over 120 fields of study and research and being successful in the German government's excellence initiative, which has motivated me as the best place to start the next academic life.
Additionally, one of the amazing facts that I read about Munster city, it is considered Germany's cycling capital where 450 km network of cycle paths designed for bicycle traffic which will be enjoyable going to university or discovering the city by bicycle.
While searching for a master's program in Germany I found a diversity of programs that focus on either computer science topics or geosciences separately, on contrast the interdisciplinary programs were very limited but the one that took my attention was this program geoinforamtics and spatial data science not only due to the title is attractive but the courses and content are selected carefully to target special area of research that focuses on using cutting edge technologies in geographic information science and that what I'm interested and passionate about.
As experienced software engineer with geoscience background, pretty sure that geoinformatics and spatial data science is my point of interest, One of the courses that confirmed my choice regarding this program existence of machine learning for satellite imagery course which is very outstanding topic to involve artificial intelligence in extracting patterns from the aerial images and choosing convolutional neural networks as deep learning technique that detect the objects efficiently, this one of my research goals, to dig deeper in the collaboration between GI and artificial intelligence and I started this track by studying some courses in the diploma and pre-master programs in addition to self-learn online courses most of the skills to get myself familiar with the ecosystem tools ex: python, numpy ,pandas ,geo-pandas , open street maps OSM, matplotlib, tensorflow and a lot of other tools in the same field.
It's very interesting existence of several research labs part of the Institute for Geoinformatics which focus on research problems from the interdisciplinary research areas such as spatial intelligence, spatio-temporal modeling and geo-simulation modeling, which have motivated me to choose your institute due to these research facilities. Planning to join one of these labs to contribute to the research activities and open the doors for further development in the active challenging points.
That's obvious how this journey made me eager for more and never stop learning so I believe how much this program will enable me to acquire the education I need to find and develop solutions in spatial data science such as the transportation domain ex: traffic forecasting, and find new methods, especially in artificial intelligence evolution era.
Always there is a lot to do if you are really passionate about what you work in, so I believe this program will be the essential step to further my research deeply into the traffic-related problems that are challenging to many countries that have a high population, this will help smart cities in managing traffic flows by optimizing transportation logistics and reducing congestion using set of technologies known today as intelligent transportation system ITS, this area according to my reading has many opportunities for future work, looking forward to picking up a lot of them once I join this master program.

4783 The 2000 word maximum need not be used if the writer tends to over-extend his motivational letter with non-motivational content. The idea is to present your most compelling reasons for higher studies. It is not an academic and professional biography. That said, this essay can use heavy content editing to create a series of strong motivating factors. It does not need to be this long and include irrelevant reasons.
Keep the opening paragraph and revise paragraphs 3,4,5. Beef up the reasons for studying in Germany and Munster University. It is boring and will leave the reviewer disinterested. There are no compelling reasons for these choices at the moment. Delete the researched and tourist based reasons.
