letter of motivation
Dear sir/madam
With this letter would like to express my interest in studying in Romania, I plan to continue my bachelor degree on petrochemistry in Romania as I have huge interest in organic chemistry, particularly in carbochemistry, and organic compounds. Petrochemistry is fundamental to the sustainability of technology, a vital component for energy supply.
During high school, I was actively involved in many academic and non-academic activities. In academics, I took a part as a laboratory assistant at a Laboratory of chemistry. I learned a lot about materials processing, nano material, and organic compounds. In addition, I lead approximately twenty students following the weekly experiments in various topics. In non-academics, I actively participated in Student's organizations at school, such as the chemistry club and Scientific Student Activity. My passion in engineering has activated this club to create a wastewater treatment project using activated sludge and carbon which was potentially attractive to many chemistry competitions. In 2018, my project was selected as 20 finalists (out of 200 worldwide competitors) in the IAEA International Student science Competition in South Korea. Having been experiencing an international learning atmosphere, I aim to expand my knowledge to International scale and therefore in 2020 I took a part in an students exchange programs and was nationally selected to study in the USA.
As a student who has ever participated on creating the project in materials science field for environment, I realized that to create sustainable energy technology needs to collaborate with researchers. Many forms of combination such as developing manufactures of eco-friendly refineries and more efficient processing technologies are fundamental for the development of sustainable technology.
In order to study petrochemistry, Romania is a good reference case study for world natural gas industry. Apparently, Romania holds the best prospect of oil and gas exploration. Data on natural gas discovery on offshore (Black Sea) as in their statistical review, BP statistical review noted that Romania has an offshore coverage of 22 square kilometers of the black sea with 9 offshore projects. Makes Romania has great potential to hold the market key of oil and gas industry in Central Europe. With such conditions, currently, petrochemistry academics in Romania also focus on developing research related to gas pipelines and eco-friendly refinery, In addition, the chemical engineering nd petrochemistry faculty in Romania have complete laboratory research and field research facilities. Apparently, studying I Romania will give me the capacity to solve the problem in a complex way
Apart from academics, I have a plan to become an active member and board of the Indonesian Student Association (PPI) of Romania. There I will study across Romanian and Indonesian cultures. Romania is a country which has achieved great civilization. Presently, Romania emerges to be one of the rapidly developed nations in the technological and educational sectors. This fact motivates me to study in Romania since I believe being in Romania not only enable me to gain my bachelor's degree but also help me develop my intellectual maturity. I am sure that many activities besides academics will enhance my experience and knowledge and that will support my study at the end.
Upon returning to my country, I have several plans, which will be achieved even though they required a long process. I plan to actively conduct research and publish it in local scientific journals as well as internationally and even prestigious international journals such as ACS Nano. Build a modified oil distribution pipeline using polyprophylene for transportation of petroleum from a production platform to a receiving facility unit, both onshore and offshore. cooperation and investment opportunities in the field of industrial pipelines for oil and gas between Indonesia - Romania
Finally, I will initiate and encourage other researchers in my country to focus in the downstream or commercializing of research results so that the impact is felt more in the community, government and the world. With my experience on international networking, organizational and leadership background on science, this scholarship would be an excellent bridge for the future science development between Indonesia and Romania.
