Is there too much pressure on Teenagers to go to college?

College is an important factor in life. However, one should take into consideration, when is the important time to set foot into college. College is an

educational institution that provide students with tools and skills necessary for gainful employment. Most everyone wants to be successful in life.

When it comes to teenagers, one may ask are we putting too much pressure on teenagers to go to college? Yes! Teenagers have to worry about the college transitions, anxiety, and peer pressure that goes into getting ready or deciding to go into college.

About College:

College is a place for students to thrive. In College, Student's establish intellectual foundations for their careers and when they have the freedom to explore the path's they may take (Wise 2013). When it comes to teenagers, one may be putting too much pressure on them to get into college. These students deal with the understanding of college transitions, peer pressure, and anxiety every day when preparing to go to college or not.

College Transition

The College transition is an important one. College transition requires students to come prepared and ready for more responsibilities. Teenagers are coming to college's unprepared. During the first-year, teenager's in college must try and order progress and be successful in the later years of school (Alvarez 2016).

Thus, teenagers are tasked with deciding a life-altering decision after high school, which they may not be ready for.

Student Anxiety

Teenagers deal with student anxiety almost daily while being in high school. College is on teenagers minds throughout high school, typically around their final year of being a high schooler (Alvarez 2016). Teenagers have to deal with student anxiety when pressured with debt, depression, time management, social problems, health, working too hard on oneself, and so on (Alvarez 2016). Students get anxiety when dealing with finances. College is financially draining commitment that teenagers may not pan out (Grown & Flown). This means some of the degree's teenager's take for a job may not actually require a degree.

Thus, this can lead to teenagers becoming financially in debt, leading to depression and anxiety.

Not only do students deal with student anxiety this way, but they deal with student anxiety when worrying about fear of failing. No one wants to fail in academics and so do the teens that prepare to join college (AnalyzEdu). As more pressure builds up, teens worry about success. However, teens also deal with student anxiety when dealing stacks of pamphlets and brochures that pile up on a crowded desk (Holcomb 2008). This can give teenagers anxiety because the teenagers must organize the desk PLUS stress about what colleges to go to in such a short amount of time. Students also deal with student anxiety when it comes to wasting time in classes they do not care about in college. The endless, pointless homework teenager's do because of peer pressure and anxiety of parents wanting their kids to be successful in life (Grown & Flown). The stress on the generation regarding advanced education can be hazardous to their mental and physical well-being. Teenagers are generally exhausted at the end of the high school day and no longer think straight (Holcomb 2008).

Peer Pressure

Teenager's deal with peer pressure daily and do not always choose what is right for them. It is known that teenagers on a daily basis throughout high school deal with peer pressure. The pressure from family and other students is one that occurs. Teenagers are always trying to fit in with a social situation which leads to peer pressure (AnalyzEdu). Teenager's want to be popular and have as many friends as possible. Teenagers can find themselves in tough decisions that alter their life. Teenager's experience a lot of pressure to go to college due to high expectations set from parents. The results lead to worries, stress, anxiety, and lack of confidence (AnalyzEdu).

Teenagers are often scared of the idea of getting into college, not because it only requires a lot of work while in class but students are expected to get home, study, and do their work (BestBritishWriter). Therefore, failure is something a student does not want because this leads to poor self- image and parents peer pressure on wanting their kids to be successful in life. Bad behavior is shown from teenagers who just started college as a result from parents and society forcing them to achieve the best results (BestBritishWriter). Thus, this is a type of peer pressure.

Teenagers are a young group of people who must decide on an important decision early in their lives. Despite that parents only want what is best for their

children, meddling in such important life-altering decisions can only harm the teenager. With taking everything into consideration, teenagers are pressured
into going to college.

Ashley, the main problem with your research paper at this point is that it is composed of more than 50% in-text citations. Should this paper be run through a plagiarism checker, it will be flagged as plagiarized. The only way to get around that problem, is to better develop the information in your sections and sub sections by utilizing personal experiences, opinions, and explanations of your researched information. Without the addition of your personal data and understanding, the essay takes on a purely textually researched approach which will not prove any true meaning or understanding of the research on your part. If you notice, each section of your research is no longer than a paragraph. A better researched paper will have at least 3 - 5 paragraphs per (sub) heading in order to show that the information is something that you believe in and support as a major piece of information regarding the topic in your essay. It would be best if you try to develop each section as best as you can in order to remove the possible plagiarism instances in the essay.
