How to tell readers that the identity of the organization under study is anonymous?

Hello All,

I just finished a research paper as part of my PhD dissertation, the organization in which I did the research asked me to keep their identify anonymous. I managed to keep the organization identity anonymous, however, as a footnote somewhere in the research paper, I have to add a statement to explain that the identity of the organaztion is explicitly omitted from the paper to comply with their wishes ... any guidance on how may I explain that? is there a specific format (I'm using APA style)? should it be in the first page under the author's note? or ... I really need help!

Regards,

You could cite them normally, but, instead of the name of the organization, cite what they did instead. For instance, instead of citing a business such as Walmart, you could cite them as 'Anonymous Grocery Store'. Hope this helps!
