building Quickly my professional network
Before My Internship with FBN Capital Limited in the year 2013, I have had a big social network that has been useful in helping me to land the internship in the first place and also helped in securing a place to stay in the new city where I moved into for the period of the internship. Its however worthy of note that my professional network building commenced in my first day at work, when I met the head of Investment operations who so far have been helpful in many professional capacity (ranging from helping in deciphering some otherwise difficult matters when we encountered one in school) and has also helped in reccomending me for all the admission offers gotten so far.
Following the completion of my undergraduate studies, I was privileged to work again with Leadway Assurance Company in the year 2017 before my compulsory service year in a graduate volunteer role and it was made possible by Mr. Aderinsoye Adeniyi whom I met while also interning with FBN Capital Limited in the year 2014. At Leadway I met also a host of professional amongst which we have the indefatigable Miss. Ehi Ogbeide (Now Mrs.) Who till today has been helpful in helping me to get the required knowledge on tax matters that has been positively imparting the students that I currently have under my mentorship at the university of Jos.
Furthermore, My commitment to Academics has led me to so many conferences and seminars amongst which we have the International Conference on Accounting, finance and Management (ICAFIM) at the Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile Ife, international journal of management sciences in the University of Jos,faculty of Management sciences and the University of Jos Masters of science and Doctorate of Philosophy seminars. From where I have been able to meet distinguished scholars like Mr. Olayinka Moses of the University of Victoria at Wellington. Someone whose knowledge I have been able to use in training undergraduates at the University of Jos on research methods during their research work and as a result save the student's from the avoidable stress that would have otherwise been the case. I also met wonderful people like Mr. Inneh Eghosa Godwin,Dr. Tajudeen Ayoola and a host of other academicians who have been able to help sort out the admission of a lot of student who I am affiliated with in one way or the other in the University of Jos,Obafemi Awolowo University and Moshood Abiola Polytechnic.
On a final note, I am really enthusiastic about the Network of colleagues that the Chevening Alumni will avail me and would like to emphasise that I am determined to make most out of the opportunity by ensuring to help my immediate society with the knowledge that is always the case with such gathering of professionals.
