Mention LOW SALARY on the Scholarship Personal Statement?

Hi every body,
I am writing a personal statement to get a scholarship award. Although I am working but I cannot afford that amount of money to enroll for the program, so I really need that award. Since I submitted an evidence of my employment history, maybe they think that I can afford it. So I want to clarify it by writing this statement that "Although I am working in a company, but I cannot make ends meet on my salary " or "The expenditure is higher than my income". I am going to ask you it sounds appealing if I write them in my personal statement.

You can but it is a tricky subject to deal with. You have to mention it carefully or it will seem like your begging for the money or whining about your situation. You could say something like:

"Despite the fact that I am working full time, my salary does not meet the universities tuition requirments. Like most adults, I have a home and family to take care of as well as bills (adjust that line as needed). This scholarship will present to me an oppertunity that I would otherwise be unable to experience on my income."

Yes, I think this sounds very good and lets the reader know that awarding you the scholarship will make a meaningful difference.

"Although I am working in a company, but I cannot make ends meet on my salary " -- This is good, too.
or
"Although I am working in a company, the expenditure cost of tuition in addition to other expenses amounts to a sum that is higher than my income."
