may you please proof read my essay, the question is: Please provide a statement outlining why you are applying for these Scholarships, why a Scholarship would help you, and detailing your educational or professional aims for the five years after you complete the Investment Analysis course.
Being an investment analyst has been my dream for as long as I can remember, but for awhile this seemed impossible because of the tuition fees which I cannot afford. In Zimbabwe there are few universities that offer this or similar courses and at the same my humble family background proved to be an obstacle in achieving my dream. I stumbled upon the Karen Napier scholarship on the internet as I was working to making my dream a reality.
The Karen Napier scholarship will enrich and enable me to advance academically thereby achieving my uttermost desire. This scholarship will make me one of the few certified female investment analyst in Zimbabwe and will also provide financial support to cushion me for the duration of my stay at Stirling University.
Being awarded the scholarship will add value to my country for I will be an internationally trained investment analyst. The knowledge gained will make me insightful and well groomed in the subject and given the opportunity I will help in bringing about a positive economic turnaround by helping the relative authorities make sound financial decisions.
After graduation I hope to do an internship in a developed country so as to put my acquired knowledge to practice in a more challenging environment. Once internship year is over, I will return to Zimbabwe. By joining a team of professionals that is competent, adheres to financial statutes and respect the corporate governance. We will work together for to improve our organisation and ultimately our country.
In conjunction with my career I want to enroll for PhD. This PhD program should take a maximum of 4 years and it will be a PhD done by research in the field of copula functions as applied to financial risk.
I hope to assist at our local universities as a part time in the faculty of finance. This will have a great impact on the students since there are a few lecturers at our higher and tertiary institutions for investment analysis. Due to the exposure I would have had, beyond boarders my participation in lecturing will go a long way.
After I have completed my PhD I will continue to pursue the academic fraternity through researches and publications, as I work myself towards professorship in investment analysis. Advancing my career, with the help of other investment analyst I intend to start focus groups and symposiums that focuses investment analyst and the challenges they face in the profession, how to overcome them and how we can work together to enrich the investment analyst courses offered by our universities so they can be recognized at various international boards. The symposium will highlight the importance of an investment analyst in any organization and the need to consult them before the relevant authorities can make hasty decisions. I intend to open a consultancy company that focuses on creating financial models to help the respective company to be risk averse.
In short the Karen Napier scholarship will make my dream a reality.
