In fact, that is what is missing from the overall presentation. You only speak of your background and your interests. You describe the scholarship but you failed to give yourself a true purpose for being. Why do you really wan to study sustainable cropping systems? Is it related to food security? Ease of growing the crops? What? You do not need to describe the scholarship to the reviewer. He already knows about it. You could however, try to respond to the hypothetical questions that I have posed here to create a more appropriate purpose for your application.
