Discovery consists of seeing what everybody has seen and thinking what nobody has thought", as said by Albert Szent-Gyrgyi. In this era of industrialization, a lot has been accomplished by robots particularly in developed countries to improve the nations' economies. My view of field robotics aims to bring technologies that allow autonomous systems to assist humans in performing tasks that are difficult in hazardous environments, and those that are trained in professional capacity can foster it at all levels. One of the memories in my early 20s I deeply remembered was when I witnessed a crude method of appendicitis operation that resulted in complications few years after the surgery. This scenario shaped my interest to how robots might be used in this 21st century across a broad spectrum of health care where the impact on how robots in a case like this can effect changes to save human lives and reduce the rate of complications after surgical operations.
It's impact made me to carry out a professional project on supplementing the Neural Networks and Deep Learning chapter from Artificial Intelligence in Surgery: An AI Primer for Surgical Practice designed to offer hands-on experience with artificial neural networks to surgeons. Staying ahead in a rapidly changing world requires the ability to look beyond the present. I have worked with artificial intelligence for three years and have gained an extensive knowledge of its importance and applications. I am ready to move forward in the field of robotics. To keep up with advances in the field and prepare myself for the demanding standards of this industry, I plan to pursue graduate studies in robotics at Universitat de Girona.
Having studied mechanical Engineering Studying mechanical Engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. My studies provided me with limitless experience of modeling and analysis of Mechanical structures. Courses such as CAD and CAM, control systems, machine theory, machine design and manufacturing processes have opened up limitless horizons for me in mechanical engineering. With this background, I would like to contribute to the topic of intelligence in robotics. During my final year project research, I had the opportunity to work in a team of four students led by Dr. A.C. Uzorh on the design and fabrication of an electrically powered convection dryer for fish based on the principle of heat and mass transfer. This experience gave me a real sense of how elegant mechanical engineering can be an how it relates to field robotics. I had the opportunity to integrate mechanical and electrical aspects to design a successful fish dryer.
I hereby wish to apply for the Field robotics programme because it promotes world-class learning structures and provides me with a sound scientific and technical knowledge of robotics and related AI topics, as well as the ability to effectively use this knowledge and apply the most appropriate methods for the problem at hand in healthcare and the components needed to implement the proposed solution.
Studying field robotics at the universitat de Girona will provide me with the best knowledge in the world of artificial intelligence. The university is the best in the fields of pattern recognition and computer vision in Italy, which coincides with the research programme on human-robot interaction that I want to study in Europe.

In addition, studying in these countries would be a great tool for me as I will be exposed to multicultural activities and languages and visit tourist and also where I will like to engage in extracurricular activities like drumming and weightlifting.
I have received good preparation that will help me achieve my personal and professional goals. Since I finished my undergraduate studies with a second class degree, I have seen the need to broaden my horizons knowing exactly how artificial intelligence relates to robotics, I have been able to work on various projects including "Artificial intelligence Healthcare chatbot system" and speech recognition projects that can play a role in communication between robots and humans. I have taken online courses towards the Professional Certificate in Human-Robot Interaction from the University of Canterbury (UCx), a platform that trains scientists in broad areas of robotics.
A future career goal is to collaborate with advanced countries such as Spain in the field of robotics to expand knowledge in the scientific field and make connections that will help Nigeria in areas to solve problems in society. I especially want to address problems in healthcare where robots will perform task involved in patients care to achieve a stable economic growth of 30%.
